I don't think I've had that problem as of yet, but check to see if maybe apple 
accessibility might help as well diag the problem.

Hi!

Does anyone have problems sometimes where the audio of Voiceover goes over 
completely to one channel? The standard 2 channels are restored again if 
Voiceover is turned off and then restarted.

Again, I’m curious and its not so much of a problem rather a minor irritant
