Did you read the reviews? 42% 3 stars and below. Lots of people having the
same issue. No solutions described. Did you notice when the app was last
updated? There is lots of criticism of no tech support.

Hi,
I found an IOS app that promises to be truly easy, but I'm getting stuck.
The pro version is only 2 dollars.
It appears that one can transfer music to their IOS device via a web page,
which is one of your internal IP Addresses, with a colon and four more
digits. It also appears that you can select to play by folder, which is how
I like to play my music.
When I go to the IP Address it offers, the page shows the EZmp3Player page,
but with my screenreader, I cannot find a way to upload from my computer to
the iPhone.
I am using JFW, and I have tried it with I.E., and FireFox.
TIA for any ideas.

Re: [Mac-access]: does any one know of a way of un zipping things on the mac?

2015-04-05 Thread Jude DaShiell
http://www.FinkProject.org/ I'm sure has both the zip and unzip utilities
available for you to build as fink packages and install once you install
the fink installer and search using the fink installer package for unzip
and zip. That project has been making much open source software available
for mac users back as far as before Tiger came on the scene.

You could also search under mac software in the apple store.

[Mac-access]: Compatible Mac Keyboards

2015-04-05 Thread Dane Trethowan

Hi!

I'm looking at other keyboards to use with my Mac other than the one
shipped with the Mac or the one you buy from Apple, I've been using a
Bluetooth keyboard and there's nothing wrong with the board per say
though I'm very much impressed with the look and feel of the latest
Logitech offering I'm using on my Windows machine, the MX800.

I did a Google search on compatible Mac keyboards and discovered the
Logitedh diNovo keyboard, its a Bluetooth board and seems to be very
highly regarded so I thought I'd give it a try, I've ordered one and I
should have it after Easter though I do warn anyone considering this
keyboard that it will set you back around $100.

If anyone on the list has tried one of these boards then I'd be most
interested in hearing hwat you think or perhaps you've tried another Mac
compatible keyboard offering.

Back when Tiger was hot, Apple sold a plastic keyboard full-sized with usb

Yes, I too had one of those with one of my earlier Mac machines.

The full-size keyboard that Apple sells now has about the same look and
feel as does the Apple Bluetooth keyboard I'm currently using, nothing
wrong with those keyboards but there is better as the Logitech MX800
demonstrates and I'm hoping the new one I've just bought for the Mac
will have the same look and feel, it certainly gets good ratings if you
bother to look it up on Google, we'll soon know .

2015-04-05 Thread David Griffith
I have a fantastic Mac Keyboard but a warning it it is a luxury product
at well over £100 but is the best keyboard I have ever used on the Mac.
It is everything that the Mac keyboard should have been, with fantastic
key travel. Warning this is nothing like those ultar thin models that
Apple has for some reason moved to. which I personally hate. This is
about five times as thick, is heavy and hefty and built like a tank
with quality build all over. This is certainly not portable, but
if you want a tactile, comfortable ergonomic keyboard that is a joy to
type on fore the Mac you cannot go wrong. The only thing is that it does
not have a split keyboard layout which I personally prefer but it it
nevertheless extremely good. and completely Vo compatible. The only
adjustment I had to make is customize one key in the numpad commander
but I can go into that if somebody actually wants me to.

I will never go back to Apple keyboards.
It is called the tactile pro
The UK version is on
http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard/matias-tactile-pro-for-mac-uk.asp

I am sure there are US versions.

1. launch down cast
2. hit cmd 3 to add a podcast, if not it's cmd 4.
3. go to the first table, interact then go to the item where it says enter url.

5. follow the prompts. The main one is the url
6 vo right to subscribe and activate that button
7. hit done if you see you have been subscribed.

Does this keyboard have a NumPad? It would be nice to have every
access to the up/down and the end/home keys.

Thanks for the info.

Re: [Mac-access]: Compatible Mac Keyboards

2015-04-05 Thread Diane Bomare
I use Logitech bluetooth keyboards on my Windows and Mac. The one for the Mac
is a k750, I think. It is light, has a good feel for the keys, is a full
keyboard, including numpad. Keys are spaced nicely. The only problem is that
one has to go to the Logitech site and download keymapping software, because,
in their infinite wisdom, have the default of the FN keys messed up.

It is also solar powered, and has an on/off switch. I think it cost about $70
on Amazon.

Correction to previous post. My Logitech keyboards for PC and MAC are NOT
bluetooth. I keep forgetting that they each use Logitech's little USb
transmitter, so they are wireless.

Re: [Mac-access]: Compatible Mac Keyboards

2015-04-05 Thread David Griffith

I have the Tactile Pro.
I think the function keys are pretty much identical to what you get on
a traditional Apple keyboard. That is I can mute, raise and decrease
volume, launch itunes etc.

The only slight annoyance is that they have left the = key off the
numpad and actually emulated the Windows numpad layout. The = key is
used for bringing up the menu bar in numpad commander so is a useful
command.

To resolve this I remapped the Voiceover help key on the numpad, which
is the minus or dash key to be the menu key. You can still of course
use VO H to bring up voiceover help if you need to.

Remapping the minus key to be the menu key rather than voiceover help is
easy to do If you go to commanders in the Voiceover Utility table.

you can see under the mumpad tab the whole range of key shortcuts
available with numpad commander.
Simply find the minus/dash key in the commands table and on the pop up
button
where it says bring up voiceover help then press on that and navigate
through the available commands and replace this with the go to menu
command.

Hope you enjoy your keyboard.

Yes it has

It is what Apple should have provided as their extended keyboard.

like one that more give when I push the keys.

Hi!

I'm looking at other keyboards to use with my Mac other than the one shipped
with the Mac or the one you buy from Apple, I've been using a Bluetooth
keyboard and there's nothing wrong with the board per say though I'm very much
impressed with the look and feel of the latest Logitech offering I'm using on
my Windows machine, the MX800.

I did a Google search on compatible Mac keyboards and discovered the Logitedh
diNovo keyboard, its a Bluetooth board and seems to be very highly regarded so
I thought I'd give it a try, I've ordered one and I should have it after Easter
though I do warn anyone considering this keyboard that it will set you back
around $100.

If anyone on the list has tried one of these boards then I'd be most interested
in hearing hwat you think or perhaps you've tried another Mac compatible
keyboard offering.
