Re: wordpress blogging on the mac

2013-08-28 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi Sarah,
I have mars edit, and I was able to write a post on my personal blog
successfully. However, my professor is going to create the actual blog for my
class, and invite people to be co-authors, will mars edit work for me to be
able to be a co-author of his blog? Are there any specific settings I'll need
to put into mars edit?
Thanks,
Courtney

Hi,
I purchased ripit awhile back, and yesterday afternoon, I attempted to rip a
dvd with that. It worked, then I proceeded to convert it into .m4a files with
dvd remaster 8 from the app store, and it worked flawlessly as well. So even
without fairmount, this process works. I just thought I'd let people know.

Hi,
I have the same exact issue whether I insert my ipod, ipad, or Iphone. What I'd

Hi,
I don't need the 3rd partition, and I want to remove it to increase the space
of the one partition that contains my growing itunes library, so I figured I'd
have to remove the unneeded one to expand the itunes partition.

editing partition layout on an external hard drive

2012-05-29 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
Is there a way to edit the partition layout of an external hard drive without
formatting it first. For instance, I have a hard drive that has 3 partitions on
it, can I remove one of those partitions, which has nothing on it since I don't
need it now? I created these partitions under disc utility myself.

Hi,
I've had some cases where amadeus pro wouldn't convert certain files, so then I
used an app called tunesify to do the job. The app can be found in the mac app
store for about $1.99 U.S.
Hope this helps,

a weird amadeus pro problem

2012-03-25 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I have the oddest amadeus pro problem on my new iMac. Whenever I try to join a
file, it joins it, but I can't save the file. When I press the save button, it
just sits there, it doesn't take me to an export dialogue or anything. I know
it hasn't saved, because after an hour, I try quitting the program, but it
won't let me quit. Any ideas on this frustrating problem? Just a side note,
since I can't figure out for now, I'm recording my hour-long edited file in
real-time with audio hijack pro, since I know of no other way to fix it.

iMac: first impressions

2012-03-15 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I just got my imac two days ago. So far, I really like it, it seems a lot
faster than all of the other macs I have, (the white macbook, macbook air, and
mac mini). I got it because I need to work with protools for college, and
protools works best on imacs. Also, the speakers on the imac are absolutely
incredible, I've never heard such good sounding built-in speakers on any
computer. I just thought I'd share my first impressions of my new imac.

itunes help

2012-03-04 Thread Courtney Curran

Hi,
I have an iTunes library on an external hard drive that I use on my mac mini
and macbook air, but when I open it with my white macbook, it says I need the
latest iTunes to open it. I just updated everything, so nothing shows up under
software update. I'm at a loss as to why it will open on two macs but not this
one, even though it's updated. Any suggestions of how I could fix this
perplexing and frustrating problem?

Hi,
Thanks for this, I have one more question though, do I have to open each and
every message, or can I just do a select all command and choose that service. I
have about a hundred messages, so it would be tedious to open up each email.
Thanks,

recorder isn't picking it up in amadeus. How can I fix it, the sliders are
dimmed.
Thanks,
Courtney

Hi,
I use itunes to play my music, but I use quicktime player 7, which seems to
work fine with vo, to play my favorite internet radio streams.

Hi Travis,
Thanks for offering, but last night, I found an app in the app store,

I think you're right about being able to create and publish any sort of
book with this App, or publish it on the iBooks store at least.. Apple's
description for the App says, "Now anyone can create stunning iBooks:
Textbooks, cookbooks, history books, picture books, and more for iPad. All

I think this is really exciting stuff, especially if they've done their

One note about supported devices for reading the published books: It does

getting my hotmail account to work properly with apple mail

2012-01-03 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I'd like to get my hotmail account to actually delete my messages across all of
my macs when I go to it with mac mail. I can do this under ios by making
hotmail an exchange account, but unfortunately, this doesn't work with the mac.
I guess what I'm asking is can hotmail be set up as imap on the mac, like
gmail, and actually delete the messages in my inbox across my macs and on the
server?
Thanks,
Courtney

Re: My Phone Desktop

2012-01-02 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I love the web application, another benefit of it is it doesn't take up space
on your mac's hard drive because it's all through safari. I do have a question
though, can you send messages to specific contacts using this app?
Thanks,
Courtney

Hi,
That was exactly my train of thought, I already had audiohijack, but being a

unconventional but creative use for audio hijack pro

2011-11-23 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I hope this isn't too off topic for the list, but I've found an unconventional,
but quite creative use for the program audio hijack pro. I like to go to sleep
at night with some sort of audio playback on my mac, but all of the sleep
timers out there seem to be for iTunes playback only. On my mac, I usually use
vlc for music playback, and no sleep timers support vlc. So what I did was I
set up a schedule in audio hijack pro to start hijacking vlc at a certain time,
so the audio will mute at that time. I leave the option to record unchecked. I
know it's not the best option for a sleep timer, but it works.

no "use audio port for" menu on my macbook air, help

2011-11-18 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
There's no menu that says "use audio port for" on my macbook air, so therefore,
I can't record from a line-in source. I can only record from the external mic.
Does anyone have an answer as to why this may be. It's a 2010 macbook air with
a 64 gb hard drive.
Thanks,
Courtney

Re: What is sound check?

Hi,
Cool, so does this mean, if I turn sound check off, my music won't be turned

Re: dropbox

2011-10-27 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
No, I haven't, when I did a clean install of lion on my mac mini, Dropbox got
wiped out right along with everything else, but I didn't really need it then.
But now, I need something out of one of my folders for school, so am I out of
luck? I have a macbook with dropbox on it, but I won't be around it until
tomorrow evening.
Thanks,
Courtney

Itunes wifi sync

2011-10-12 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I can't get iTunes wifi sync to work. My iPad 2 is plugged into a power strip
with the provided wall charger, and my mac and iPad are both connected to wifi.
iTunes is open on my mac. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Courtney

A question about charging my ipad

2011-10-02 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I have a rather silly question about charging the Ipad. I have a 6 foot long
usb adapter that I bought a few months ago, can I use that and the little
magsafe wall plug that came with the ipad to charge it? Or do I have to use the
really short usb thing hooked to the wall plug to charge the Ipad?
Thanks,
Courtney

Hi,
Thanks for this, now I feel the tiniest of indentations, I noticed the sound of
the mic is much better than the one on the Ipod touch 4th generation.

Hi,
Yes, I've paired the jambox with my iPod touch before, so should I turn
bluetooth off on that device? Nothing was in the line-in port of the jambox
though.
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for this. No, I haven't paired previously, but when I choose it in the
bluetooth setup assistant, and press continue, it seems to connect. After that,
it seems to connect, but it isn't used as the audio device right away. Then
when I tried to choose it as my audio device, my whole mac goes completely
silent. I'm using lion.

Thanks,

Re: restoring my backed up materials after clean install of lion?

2011-09-24 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi John,
It doesn't appear that you can restore from the super duper volume, so
therefore, I freed up space on one of my external drives and did a time machine
backup. I'll let you know what happens. But before I go ahead with the clean
lion install, I do have one question. When I do a restore from the time machine
backup, can I choose what's restored?
Thanks,
Courtney

restoring my backed up materials after clean install of lion?

2011-09-22 Thread Courtney Curran
Hi,
I'm planning to do a clean install of lion on my 2009 mac mini. But I'm
curious, how do I restore my stuff, for example, internet key codes,
application keys, and all my files. I have my mini backed up with Super Duper.
Is this even possible, especially the restoration of all the key codes, so I
don't have to ask for sighted help to read me the codes?

Thanks,
Courtney
