I know linux command to change permission of directories.

I do this command in linux all the time.
I never have done this command in  MAC.

Try this may be it works for you.

1.  start terminal
2.  do ls command at the prompt.  It should show all the folder names.
3.  type  chmod -R 755

Hope I recalled the name of this feature correctly .

Was wondering if anyone knew about this feature which has been introduced into 
OSX Mavericks, I looked it up on the Apple OSX Knowledge base and its 
fascinating the way its supposed to work to say the least.

The article I read talks about the function working with Macbook Air computers 
so I'm wondering if it would work at all with a 2011 model iMac machine?

One of the things the Power Saver does is to compress memory on the fly when 
memory starts getting low thus providing more memory for other applications.

You can use TextMate. I believe it has a plugin that allows you to edit files 
straight from an FTP. You can then install an FTP server on your Unix server 
and edit them in real-time.

Please go to the TextMate website and download the Alpha 2.0 version (which is 
free). It is compatible with VoiceOver, as well.

On a side note, why don't you download the xCode command-line tools and compile 
the C code locally?

using terminal app

I am programming in 'C' language.
What editor can I use for coding?
I was looking at terminal and using 'vi' for editing.  But How do you highlight 
multiple lines for copying ?
The other option is textedit app.  But I have to scp the files from unix server 
to my Mac each time for editing and scp it back to the server again.

2.  selected verbosity from tool bar.
3.  selected Text
4.  When encountering a link  (do nothing)

Still says "web URL detected".

apple mail

[Haghighi,Amin]

Created an exchange account and imported my mails from outlook 360. to apple 
mail
In outlook I had created several sub folders under inbox.
I don’t see any of sub folders in apple mail.
I only see them in message menu bar under “copy to” or “move to”.
I would like to be able  to access the sub folder mail messages.

Does anyone know?

Also, I know microsoft office does not work with VO very well.  Has anyone used 
libreoffice?

If you're talking about an editor that works in terminal, use nano.   
It replaces pico which was the default for years on linux distributions, and 
indeed, it can be called up with pico as the command, but it works well, and to 
be honest, when I'm in terminal, that's all I use.
