icloud email

2014-08-20 Thread don bishop
I have my own domain and using mail forwarding to my sbcglobal account which is
a part of att. I seem to be loosing messages from some lists, especially
from googlegroups.

So, thinking of setting up an icloud email account and forwarding to that
instead of sbcglobal.

Is there any limitations on message or attachment size? Also, any filtering
out of messages?

Anything else I should consider before doing this?

Thanks,
Don

icloud mail and password

2014-08-20 Thread don bishop
Well, I went ahead and created an icloud email hame. I then got a message
about having created this and I accidently hit the “no” button. Not sure what
that does. I went back and the email address is still there. However, I
didn’t see any box to create a password. Do I just use my appleid password
for email?

Just hope I didn’t screw it up. grin

The responses are still flooding in with requests to remain subscribed.
That is just excellent, many thanks to all of you who have written to us.

This post is just to let you know what will happen when Gordon creates the
new group. As you're subscribed to it, you will be sent an Email just as
you were when you joined the group. Despite this, please don't start
posting to the new address until we tell you that it's operational.
Further, there will be a short outage of service. This is inevitable as
Gordon changes the DNS settings for the domains over to the new servers.
Usually, your provider will pick up the change quite quickly; but it isn't
unknown for it to take between 12 and 24 hours for it to happen with some
of the most rigid providers whose DNS systems only poll one of the 13
global NS systems once or twice a day. In the norm, however, it only takes
  a matter of minutes.

Also, it is possible that, if you have used the group at one address in the
same session as it changes to a new one, you may get an outage until you
reboot. This is because most systems retain temporary caches of name
servers and IP addresses so that they don't have to keep continually
polling the provider's servers. This happens behind the scenes and, unless
you know how to disable or modify this behaviour in your operating system's
IP stack rules, there isn't much that you can do about it other than
  rebooting.

Anyway, please don't panic if you see new subscription messages but mail
bounces or other odd things happen. Things will settle themselves down
eventually and I will make a point of writing to each and every one of you
to tell you when the change-over is complete. Please know that we do care
about our members and we will make this transition as seamless as possible
  for everybody.

  Warmest regards

  Lynne

Thanks,
I was wondering which version was appropriate.
I do have a couple questions though.
I assume vo doesn't talk in the windows environment so I need to install a
windows screen reader. Is this correct? If so, is user account control
active?
I'm okay with that, but it's good to know ahead of time. I'll probably use
windows 7 since that's what I'm most familiar with.

Many thanks,

 Hello Don,

You open Mail Preferences by pressing Cmd-Comma. You then go to the first
visible item (VO-FN-Left arrow) and interact with the tool bar. In the Tool
bar, you press VO-Space to select the pane you want.

To set the delay for removing messages from the server, press VO-Space on
Accounts, select the appropriate account from the table, then select Advanced
where you'll find a check box Remove copy from server after retrieving a
message, followed by a pop up menu where you can select the delay. Since the
Preferences open in a new window, close the window with Cmd-w when you're
 done.

 Cheers,

 Anne

playback settings

2013-08-19 Thread don bishop

I have been experimenting with my new imac a lot in the past couple
days.
Yesterday I tried changig something called sound enhancement in
playback settings. Seems a bit bright sounding when it's on. So, I'd
like to change it back. Problem is that I forgot how I got into the
playback settings.

Could someone please remind me how to locate them?

authorizing a mac to download from itunes

Still getting familiar with the keyboard and terminology.

windows, but how do I do it on the mac?

Still trying to get familiar with all the vo commands.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, how do you completely close an application?
I'm sure these are simple questions, but it's sure not obvious to me anyway.

Hi,

Think I got myself authorized on my imac, but can't figure out how to close the
store tab to get back to the main itunes program so I can work with my iphone.
Also, how do you completely close an application?
I'm sure these are simple questions, but it's sure not obvious to me anyway.

Many thanks,

Don
