Re: [Mac-access]: Using Your iPhone with faceTime and OS 10.10

2014-10-29 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

I fixed the problem I was having where the iPhone would appear to go to sleep
when trying to use it to make and receive calls with FaceTime.

Actually what was happening was that the iPhone and the Mac were on 2 different
Wi-Fi networks though both those networks are part of my Home Network itself,
one Wi-Fi network is a 2.4GHZ transmission and the other a 5.0GHZ.

To use faceTime with your iPhone both devices MUST BE explicitly on the same
Wi-Fi network it seems.

A useful and helpful tip I’m sure for anyone who is planning to use this method
of communications.

We’re talking 2 different situations, FaceTime allows full integration of your
iPhone with your Mac, FaceTime has dials out through your iPhone and you hear
the audio from your iPhone through your Mac etc.

If you’re using FaceTime for audio and video then you may find that the quality
of audio/video is far better than that offered by Skype at the moment.
