Hello, I have an iPhone 5S running the latest level of IOS 8. I use the data entry method where you slide your finger over the virtual keyboard until you find the desired character and then lift your finger to enter that character.
As I use my finger rather than a stylus I am rather slow finding the desired character and often wait for the phonetic version e.g. Victor for V or Bravo for B to confirm that I am entering the correct character. Alas this technique often triggers the option to select and enter accented versions of the desired character which I have trouble escaping from. Is there any way to disable the option to enter accented character mode, or if not what is the correct way to escape from this mode and revert to normal characters? Many thanks for any tips. Best regards…..
