Re: 1Password iOS app on sale for Thanksgiving [was Re: Apps that Love 1Password: Delivery Status touch | Agile Blog]

2013-11-27 Thread Esther
Hi Eileen,

The App Store description states that 1Password will work for iOS 6.0 and
above. This is a universal app, for those of you who have iPads, too. Also,
you can enable Dropbox syncing/backup in this app, or sync through WiFi or
through the cloud, The reason that the earlier version of 1Password on iOS
(that I got free one Christmas, some years ago, and was able to update until
August) finally got removed is that Dropbox removed the ability to do syncs and
backups some time in September. The older version still works, but they had to
remove it because the sync and backup through Dropbox could no longer be
supported for automatic syncing with their Mac app, although you can still sync
on a direct WiFi connection. Agile Bits took a lot of flack from users who
thought they were being forced to buy new versions because the developer
decided to remove the old app, and then pay for the new app. They'd just
gotten through rewriting the Mac app, and also make fixes for Mavericks and
iOS 7, so the price seems high.

Here's the App Store link again
1Password - Password Manager and Secure Wallet ($9.99 on sale, usually $19.99)
by Agile Bits
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/1password-password-manager/id568903335?mt=8

They may not put the Mac version of 1Password on sale this Thanksgiving, the
way they did last year.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

 Hi Dane,

Thanks for the head's up on 1Password and Deliver Status Touch. I have
had both these apps (before I even got an iPhone) on my iPod Touch since
2009. I'll have to update my version of Delivery Status Touch. I see
that the latest release (5.0.1, November 26, 2013) lists VoiceOver
improvements. That must have been one of the iOS 7 changes, since I never
had problems with any of the previous versions not working fully with
VoiceOver on iPhone or iPad. (But then, I don't automatically update
 apps.)

By the way, it's worth a separate post, but 1Password for iOS devices just
 went on sale for Thanksgiving:

 $19.99) by Agile Bits
 https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/1password-password-manager/id568903335?mt=8

It's not as low as the $7.99 sale price of this August, but pretty good.
I know this is expensive, but I think it's worth it, especially used in
combination with 1Password on the Mac (which is not on sale -- at least
not yet). Also, since my 1Password Pro license for iOS devices was a
Christmas freebie by the developers back in 2009, I've gotten my money's
 worth out of their products!

 Cheers,

 Esther

Hi,

This app has been suggested to me for the Mac side. My question for the iPhone
is: Is this version only running on iOS 7? I'm still running 6.1.2 and was
wondering if I needed to download it through iTunes or directly onto the phone.
Please advise, as I don't want to lose out on getting it.

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Eileen
