NTPD
Hi all Could somebody refresh me as to how the NTPD command works in Terminal? I'm trying to test out our time Server, just to make sure I have the access I need. If anybody is interested, they are more than welcome to use our NTP time server to synchronise their computer's clock. The address of the server is: ntp.mac-access.net or, if you'd rather use the IP address than go via DNS lookups: 109.224.207.79 is the IP where our NTP time server lives. Thanks. Re: NTPD
Ntpdc is what I used. I think the sub command was peers status. I hope that's useful. I had this bash script that I don't have anymore. Re: NTPD
Hi Jonathan I think it's a little different under OS X although I will try what you suggest. It's been so long since I used that command. Thanks. RE: NTPD syntax; [Reminder Please?]
Ntpdc is the command to query ntpd. Ntp.conf has the configurations. There are man pages for both. -Original Message- From: Mrs. Lynnette Annabel Smith ly...@mac-access.net Sent: Wednesday, August 17, 2011 9:10 PM To: Mac OSX iOS Accessibility mac-access@mac-access.net Subject: NTPD syntax; [Reminder Please?] Hello everybody Could one of the terminal gurus out there please remind me how to: 1. quiz a NTP server for its response. 2. manually force the client machine to do an update using a specified ntp service. Thank you.
