The idea is to directly touch the letter then it will be inserted hence the
name direct touch typing. It works similar to Fleksy but without the word
prediction capabilities.

Re: Installing ios 8

2014-09-19 Thread Matthew Chao
Hi, George. I had the same problem. The servers at Apple are
probably getting hammered with requests for updates. I turned off my
phone and turned it back on, like resetting the download.

I heard from another list that parts of the new iOS8 are buggy with
VoiceOver. If that's the case, I'd wait before getting the latest
and not necessarily the greatest. Just my thoughts.

I'd update that wayyu can report bugs. plus the download will take 4 gigs, to
to install and 2 to hold the temp file so make sure you have at least 4 gigs
clear maybe 1 more for head room.

Take care.

2014-09-19 Thread Eleanor Martha Burke
I had this problem on Wednesday 16 Sept and again on Thurs 17 Sept. I
therefore went in to the Apple store. I had been trying to update over the
air and I guess my broadband was not coping! It did OK on my iPhone in the
Apple store. The iPad Mini was a nightmare. I had tried at least 6 times
at home and it always appeared to be installing even to the point of VO
saying iOS 8 will now be installed. However, each time I was left with
iOS7!!! In the end we could not even do it with iTunes in Store so only
option in store was to reformat the iPad Mini after having backed-up
everything to iCloud and then install iOS8 and that worked.

RE: Installing ios 8

Can someone please explain to me what this direct touch typing is? As far as
I can make out, it's not dissimilar to the standard typing where you need to
do a split tap or double tap on the letters to make them appear.
