Re: Possible audio problem--internal speakers since upgrading to Mavericks

2013-11-10 Thread Dónal Fitzpatrick
Hi,

I had an odd audio problem so I’ll share here just in case it helps.

When playing a lot of various content in iTunes, I noticed a lot of distortion.
Then I realised that the Equaliser was on and set to “small speakers”. I
turned it off and sorted the problem.

This may be wholly unrelated, but might be worth a look.

2013-11-09 Thread Sarah k Alawami
Yeh I read those. since I don’t use the audio midi interface, or have not since
2011 I totally forgot about that. I don’t want to play with or try and teach
it in case I loose my sound, and there’s so much in there you can do it’s
impossible to teach all of it in one shot.

Take care.

Re: Possible audio problem--internal speakers since upgrading to Mavericks

2013-11-09 Thread Esther
Hello George and Marcia,

Try bringing up your Audio Midi Setup, either by using Spotlight to look for
"Audio Midi", or else from Finder move to your Utilities folder with
Command-Shift-U, then press "a u" to move to "Audio Midi Setup" and launch it
with Command-Down Arrow. Interact with the table and select "Built-in Output".
Then navigate to the table where you can adjust the sliders for the individual
channels. Also check that "Mute" is not checked for either of these channels.
There's a "Configure Speakers…" button you can use to check the sound from the
left and right speakers.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
