Paul, unless this behavior occurs in the official build of Yosemite, aren't
you on a... gasp!... non disclosure agreement? Wouldn't this mean that if
results in the beta are different, if not, then ok, but if so, they should
be addressed only within the Apple beta seed channels?

Subject: [Mac-access]: Combo boxes in Facebook

Hello,
I am running Mac OS 10.10.3 beta 2 on my iMac.

I am trying to use Safari to update my Facebook profile to add some extra
work places. I can get to a combo box titled where did you work?” but
when I enter the company name it gets rejected as an invalid employer. If
I press the up and down arrows on the combo box I see a list of companies
which look like companies which my Facebook friends work at. I suspect
these are the only acceptable companies.

I recall that in Windows combo boxes let you either select from a list of
existing options for that box or to enter a completely new option.
Depending on which screen reader I used I had to press say Alt+Enter to
enable me to enter a completely new item in the combo box. How do I do
this using VoiceOver?

Many thanks for any tips on how to add extra work places to a Facebook
profile.

Actually the combo boxes I think are broken in all forms of safari. Use
m.facebook.com http://m.facebook.com/ and change the user agent to firefox as
I have this issue to in all sarafis I use.

Re: [Mac-access]: Combo boxes in Facebook

2015-03-20 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland

Actually,

I've been doing the user agent trick now for so long, I don't even remember
when I started doing it with Facebook. It's been minimum at least! since
2010, as I remember my uncle having a Snow Leopard machine at that time,
before I even got my first mac, and I remember playing around the one night
I was at his place on his IMac with the Facebook mobile site, and I remember
having to do that then.

Chris.
