Re: Using An Old Mac Mini as a VPN Gateway

2013-10-19 Thread Gordon Smith
I doubt this would work for you and I’ll tell you why. Apple only allows one
interface to be used at once on their IP stack. This is a modified BSD IP
stack. Only way you could do something like this would be to use something
like IPRouterX.

Kind regards

Using An Old Mac Mini as a VPN Gateway

2013-10-17 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

I'd be interested in others opinions as to whether my idea can be put into
practise.

I have a Denon AVR2113 Surround-Sound Receiver in my lounge which as - amongst
its many features - an Internet Radio tuner which I access with my IOS and
Android devices.

The big problem is of course that many stations I may wish to listen to are
"geoblocked".

Listening to them on a Mac or IOS/Android device is simple enough as I can
connect to one of Witopia's VPN servers so I was wondering, could I perhaps use
an old Mac Mini computer I have here as a VPN gateway?

By that I mean, could I connect the Mac Mini to my Wi-Fi Home network for data
input and use the LAN on the Mac Mini as an output for output of VPN data from
one of Witopia's servers?
