an i-phone problem

2012-05-07 Thread michael weaver
i seem to be having a problem with my i-phone 4 which is running
the latest ios and it is a bit worse than when first unlocking
the screen and getting two apps like phone and messages read
together.
for some reason the home button now seems to require two presses
when in applications to get the phone back to the home screen.
i certainly see this problem in mail where after i have read
messages i press home and i am still in the mail app and i press
home again before it takes me out of it.

how do i resolve this?

could your home button be old and warn out? Have someone probably at the apple
store check it out to see maybe if there is something caught there that might
prohibit it from being depressed all the way.

good luck.

an i-phone problem

2011-07-30 Thread michael weaver
i still seem to be having this i-phone problem and one person
suggested it was a wireless network problem.
i am not sure if i can pin it down to a wifi problem because it
sometimes says network lost but sometimes it will just say the
time and certainly unlock itself if i have got it locked and in a
pocket or whereever i have placed it.
this thing can happen even seconds after it has last happened and
i get thrown back on the screen when it does this or it throws me
to the settings menu on occasions.
i am wondering if it needs a reset or taken for a examination by
my local vodafone store as there isn't a mac store in the area
where i live.
i am even wondering if a total restore is in order to maybe fix
the problem.
this fault can happen in any application including any off-line
apps.
strangely enough my sighted sister who has the same model i-phone
doesn't appear to have this problem of it beeping and unlocking
so i am wondering if it only affects voiceover users?
i am also wondering if i may have inadvertently set something
incoorectly in the settings menu such as network settings which
might be causing the problem.
it is a bit of a pain when this problem happens and not only
because it might occur in the middle of me ddoing something like
surfing the web or email.
a few weeks ago for example i was sat in my local club at a
meeting which was discussing their finance and my i-phone decided
to unlock the screen or whatever it is doing and quoting the
time.
short of a full system restore or taking it to my vodafone store
i don't know what else to resolve this.
i did read something on vodafone's website about something that
connects to your home broadband that supposedly boosts the signal
around your home which might do the trick. i believe it is
called something like vodafone signal booster or something like
that.
it might solve this kind of signal loss at home maybe if that is
the problem and not some other fault but it isn't practical
everywhere as i am not going to just take it from home and
connect it to the broadband router for my local club.
