iPhone App stuck waiting
Hello, I am running the latest level of IOS on an iPhone 3GS. When I started my pedometer app today it did nothing. The iPhone home screen says that the app is waiting. It has stayed waiting for several hours. It is still waiting after turning the iPhone off and on again. It does not appear in the App Switcher so I cannot stop it that way. I could delete the pedometer app and re-install it but that would delete all my settings and worse all my irreplaceable history data. Any ideas on what to do about this? Many thanks for any tips. Hi Paul, Try double tapping it again. The only time I’ve ever seen a waiting state like that is when the app is being updated. Otherwise I’m quite puzzled I’m afraid. Best, Zack. You might have to reinstall it. I had to reinstall audio boo after it some how got stuck and was working fine a few minutes ago. If the game is linked with game center you will not loose your scores and stuff, or at least you shouldn't. Take care. Hi Zack, I tried double tapping again but that did not work. However your hunch about the app updating may be correct. While it was wating I took my iPhone for a walk and on my return plugged it into the sync cable. After a few minutes the wating state went away. I thus wonder whether the app might have been updating via wifi sync which I interrupted when I moved the phone. Anyway it is now working again.
