These shortcuts are available in Lion also. Option M opens up Mail as well.
In Lion  you need to have Apple script enabled for date and time reading to
work. I am not sure about ML.

It's in ml. It's a bit slower then lion but the script is definitely there and 
I use it. It's also in snl as well.

The same wway you do in lion. go to the vo utility and hit cmd 8 for 
commanders. then tab to the tabs and big right arrow to keyboard commander then 
space on it. Now add the keyboard shortcuts  you want and the actions you want.
