I did not realize there were still so many people having problem with
MacFuse, so I was not actively following this group discussion.

Jason, could you

- launch the Console application that is found in the Utilities folder
- clear all messages by clicking the icon in the toolbar of the
Console
- plug up an external hard drive and give us the message that
appears ?

Alternatively, you could start a terminal session and give the last
lines of the file /var/log/system.log (cat /var/log/system.log) after
you plugged the drive.

The strange thing is that NTFS-3G/MacFuse have no trial period, could
it be that you installed the commercial version ? (Tuxera-NTFS)

Other messages posted here are quite old. I hope, you guys, found a
solution by yourselves, if not, just post again and I will see if I
can help.
