AHA!!! Right after I sent my screenshot to Ed I saw Penny's note, and while
I don't understand why any of my open apps would have had anything to do
with voice or video messages, closing them all did fix the issue. Thank
you, Penny and Ed!

I've had the same issue. I think it is trying to send a video. I correct it by
closing out all the open apps. I thought I had inadvertently triggered it when
removing my phone from my pocket. Whatever makes my phone think I want to send
a video, this is a solution for me.

Alex if you could make a screen shot of the problem.
Screen shot is accomplished by holding down the home and lock buttons at the
same time. Sent it to me and I can see what the issue is. Sounds like you are
activating the voice note function in messages.

[MacGroup] iOS 9.0.2 texting issue

2015-10-09 Thread Alex Whitman
I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 9. I'm having a problem with Messages. An
opaque dark gray bubble appears in the text input area obscuring the words
I'm trying to send. On the right side of the gray bubble are the characters
"0:00". Clicking the little microphone icon, the camera icon, or 123 has no
effect. Texts still send, but of course I have no idea what auto-correct is
doing to my messages until they are already sent.

9.0.2 seems to have a lot of issues with Messages (says Google) but I
haven't seen any mention of this problem in particular.

Anyone else experiencing this, or have any idea how to get rid of it? The
only time I can get a clear input area is when I start a completely new
conversation with a new recipient.

As always, any help appreciated.

My father in law just had to deal with a security breach at Geico insurance. He
had several direct payments from his account to "So called Customers " To the

Re: [MacGroup] ApplePay Using Apple Watch

2015-10-09 Thread John Robinson
Thanks Richard, but I am anything but fantastic….ask my wife!

As I don’t bank at Stock Yards I don’t think I would have any persuasive
advantage, but you do, and believe me Chase is THE best bank I have ever
worked with…I can literally do 90% of my banking from my iPhone. They offer
about every modern day perk that a bank can offer, I wish I had gone to them
years earlier and they are so Apple supportive. It’s a hassle, but they took
care of the Social Security direct deposit change, right from their computer
and I did the paperwork for the company direct deposit. I had to order new
check and there will be a few firms I need to notify such as PayPal etc…it’s
worth the effort.

Cool, and I have already written to CVS, telling them I will be forced to
move to Walgreens….but they know that’s an idle threat as my company makes
us use Caremark mail for our refills, however CVS bought Caremark so I can
use the local store…unless I can get my company to go along with utilizing
other stores I won’t have much of a chance but I intend to give it all I
 can.

Thanks so much, ApplePay is so easy, so safe and it’s a no-brainer so we
have to push hard on the merchants.

 Tom,

I promised to get back to you after trying the Apple Watch using Apple
 Pay.

FANTASTIC, haven’t had a single problem.

 Several times at Walgreens.

 McDonalds

 Meijers

Attempted at StarBucks, they don’t have the equipment as of yet so I
wrote to the company. They ask me to call so this morning I talked to
a rep and told him what I wanted to use to pay for their coffee. At
this time they only use ApplePay to replenish your StarBucks card but
I told him we had other coffee shops in our area and I will patronize
the firm that allows me to use ApplePay.

The next time I am near a Whole Foods I will go in to test there, and
Target now accepts ApplePay so I will try there as well….assuming our
 stores have the updated equipment.

Once I finish this note to you I am writing Kroger to see what their
position is on ApplePay and let them know I will shop at Meijer should
they decide it’s not for them.
