Hi Alex,

Had many of the same probs you describe, and DiskWarrior uncovered many, many 
bad blocks on the mag disk drive.  Replaced the drive (with Harry’s help), and 
then upped the RAM to 8GB total.  No more difficulty.   : )

Can't own a Mac without DiskWarrior.   I would highly recommend.   Stops the

My early 2011 13" MBP is struggling with Yosemite (10.10.5). Lots of
spinning beachballs, slow scrolling, and icons bouncing forever in the
dock. I know it's long in the tooth but I'm hoping to get another 6 months
out of it. Will Yosemite be better or worse for this machine?

8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
