Re: [MacGroup] traveling wi-fi

2019-12-14 Thread William Rising
Make sure to apply the changes before trying the network again. If you close
network preferences, it should ask if you want to keep (?) or apply (?) the
changes. It couldn’t hurt to then turn off your wifi and the turn it back on.

And who says Windows and the Mac aren’t getting more and more alike...

2019-12-14 Thread William Rising
You need to forget the host.

On the iPhone, go to Settings > Wifi, tap on the info (i with a circle around
it), and select Forget this Network.

On the Mac, go to The Network preference pane, click on the advanced button,
find the network , and then forget it.

Either way, the next time you try to join, you’ll get asked for your info.

I think they have their favorites, even though they are not on the take.
Kenmore was another brand they seemed to like more than they deserved. (My
cooktop is testimony to such an overrating.)

Of course, I still look at CR’s recommendations when I need to,but I try to

Flash also has had a bad habit of sucking down resources once opened. I use
Chrome when a site requires flash [1] because (at least in the past), Chrome
was vigilant at having the most recent Flash with the most recent security
patches. Of course, I think Google has cooled towards Flash, so this might not
be a long-term strategy.
