Carlos, 

I do not know the specifics of your iBook but on my PowerBook running OSX
10.1.5 there is a small recessed button with a triangle next to it  on the
back between the S-Video out and the telephone line in connections. Your
manual will identify the proper location for your iBook.

When my machine locks up and will not recover through the normal means like
?Quit? or ?Force Quit?, I have to push this button and the machine does a
complete reset. I never loose any saved data but the machine time and
calendar revert back to some pre-assigned period.

Just click on your time in the tool bar and correct to the proper settings
and apply the changes.

Another symptom of the time shift occurs when you cannot access web sites
your were previously able to access. Also any e-mail you send will arrive at
your recipient?s mail box with the date established your computer clock.
This could place it a the bottom of some very long lists and probably get no
attention.

What exactly is a hard reset?

It sounds like something that I had to do a couple of times in the last 
couple of weeks when my iBook's battery ran completely down and froze 
up.

Time went backward one hour last week, two weeks ago I was back in 
1970, this week I went back to 1969 and the clock moved 5 hours?

According to Apple my iBook has no internal backup battery.

Haven't lost anything on the dock lately
