I'll fetch and checksum later today (currently they continue to match) and see if it changed; it's likely they're equivalent with different creation methods (internally, one from `git archive` versus `git checkout ... && rm -rf .git`). I'll see if I can't dig up info on their blog or contact them to find out their plans for archive and tarball. ___ macports-dev mailing list macports-dev@lists.macosforge.org https://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo/macports-dev

can someone try a sysctl under MacOS 10.5/x86
Hi everybody, I would like to know if MacOS Leopard on i386 or x86-64 has sysctl to detect x86 vectorizing units (sse). Unfortunately, the only computer I have running Leopard is a MacPro G5, and obviously these sysctl are missing (instead there is a hw.optional.altivec sysctl). Can someone do a: sysctl -a | grep optional under a 10.5/x86 system and tell me what’s output? Thanks a lot. Re: KDE instructions
Great, I did not know that there was this automated monitoring. Handy. I created a page (https://trac.macports.org/wiki/KDE) with the information I thought relevant for now, and added its link to the main wiki page. As I do not consider myself a KDE expert neither a Macports one, some parts may be incomplete or inaccurate. Please feel free to edit/correct them. I will also expand the ports list in order to try to have something describing the maze of KDE ports. I indeed do not hope that users will fall on this page directly, but it could be handy to have it to redirect questions, instead of repeating the same answers several times, or receive complaints because the information was not out there.
