You previously mentioned a lot of disk space being used in /opt/local/var/macports/software. We decided that was normal, since the buildbot scripts don't uninstall ports but only deactivate them, so that they can be easily reactivated later. Did you check whether this directory perhaps contains all previous versions of a port? If so, that would be an opportunity for cleanup.
