There's also this bug about kdepim3:

Don't know if it's related.

You should indicate your version of Mac OS X, Xcode and MacPorts, and
what processor architecture you're using. If the above bug is not the
same as yours, you should file a new bug. Instructions are here:

Re: KDE wont build

2007-11-27 Thread Gregory Dodwell
Sorry about the sloppiness.

OSX 10.5.1
XCode 3.0
Latest MacPorts version (1.520)

Intel Core 2 Duo (iMac 20, 2.4GHz)

I don't have the expertise to tell if the error is the same ...
I had to manually download several files that wouldn't
fetch.

problem with libraries path

2007-11-27 Thread Rémi Thébault

Hi

I have some problems with pathes and env. variables. It seems my
system get confused and doesn't want in some situations to find
libraries or headers elsewhere than /opt/local.

here is my profile file:

$ cat ~/.profile
#
# Your previous .profile (if any) is saved as .profile.mpsaved
# Setting the path for MacPorts.
export PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/
sbin:/sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/X11/bin
export C_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/include:/opt/local/include:/sw/
include:/usr/include

export LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/opt/local/lib:/sw/lib:/usr/lib

I have for instance installed liblrdf in /usr/local and when I want to
build Ardour from source (it uses scons instead of ./configure
make) :

ardour-2.1 $ scons AUDIOUNITS=1 COREAUDIO=1 GTKOSX=1 FFT_ANALYSIS=1
SURFACES=1

scons: Reading SConscript files ...
Checking for pkg-config version = 0.8.0... yes
Checking for gthread-2.0... yes
Checking for lrdf... no
lrdf = 0.4.0 not found.
You do not have the necessary dependencies required to build ardour
Please consult http://ardour.org/building for more information

a workaround is to install all dependencies in /opt/local, but I don't
like it, and some of them (like JackOSX) cannot be installed elsewhere
than /usr/local.

I would like to find a system wide way to make any building or
configure script look first in /usr/local then in /opt/local to find
whatever is needed (libraries or headers).
I assue this behaviour should be automatic but it's not, and I've
never had this kind of problem on linux.

May be this a problem specific to scons ?
I've tried to specify CFLAGS : $ CFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include -I/opt/
local/include -I/usr/include scons

but the same error occurs.

Do I read correctly, all the Requested variantnot found
indicates

something wrong with the modules themselves?

No, that does not indicate any problem. MacPorts automatically looks
for variants of certain names in all ports. Most ports do not provide
these variants, and MacPorts, in debug mode, prints a message about
that. It's not an error. It's just informative.

I have tried individually installing each of the missing
dependencies, but

no joy there either:

So all your problems at this point stem from gettext 0.17 not

Thanks for the speedy reply!
Actually, going back to the Wireshark problem, here is the list of failed
dependencies:

Error: The following dependencies failed to build: glib2 gettext pkgconfig
gtk2 atk cairo fontconfig freetype zlib libpng render xrender jpeg pango
Xft2 xorg-xproto xorg-util-macros tiff libpcap openssl

I was able to individually install all but glib2 gettext gtk2 atk and pango,
by working backwards from the end of the list. In some cases I had to go
one level deeper in resolving dependencies, but by and large the automatic
resolution worked properly. Ultimately each of the remaining items depends
upon gettext.

Here's what happened by following your instructions:

Re : problem with libraries path

2007-11-27 Thread Rémi Thébault

Hi

The problem (see below) comes from pkg-config.

I had this in .profile :
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig:/opt/local/lib/
pkgconfig:/sw/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/lib/pkgconfig

it seems ok now.

Objet : problem with libraries path

Hi

I have some problems with pathes and env. variables. It seems my
system get confused and doesn't want in some situations to find
libraries or headers elsewhere than /opt/local.

here is my profile file:

$ cat ~/.profile
#
# Your previous .profile (if any) is saved as .profile.mpsaved
# Setting the path for MacPorts.
export PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/
sbin:/sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/X11/bin
export C_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/include:/opt/local/include:/sw/
include:/usr/include

export LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/opt/local/lib:/sw/lib:/usr/lib

I have for instance installed liblrdf in /usr/local and when I want
to build Ardour from source (it uses scons instead of ./configure
make) :

ardour-2.1 $ scons AUDIOUNITS=1 COREAUDIO=1 GTKOSX=1 FFT_ANALYSIS=1
SURFACES=1

scons: Reading SConscript files ...
Checking for pkg-config version = 0.8.0... yes
Checking for gthread-2.0... yes
Checking for lrdf... no
lrdf = 0.4.0 not found.
You do not have the necessary dependencies required to build ardour
Please consult http://ardour.org/building for more information

a workaround is to install all dependencies in /opt/local, but I
don't like it, and some of them (like JackOSX) cannot be installed
elsewhere than /usr/local.

Thanks for the note, I've just updated the port to 2.4.6, it should
show up for you via port sync soon.

Re: Mplayer with some variants not compiling on Leopard

2007-11-27 Thread John Hauf

Hello,

I found a solution for this issue. Seems to be a bug in Leopard
10.5.0/10.5.1. I changed the following line in my Portfile from:
configure.ldflags {}
to (all in a single line):
configure.ldflags
-Wl,-dylib_file,/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib:/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib

See a description of that issue here:

Is there a solution for that problem. Thanks a lot for any help!

May be this a problem specific to scons ?
 I've tried to specify CFLAGS : $ CFLAGS=-I/usr/local/include -I/opt/
 local/include -I/usr/include scons
 but the same error occurs.

do you still have fink installed? Be aware that you may have problems with
both MacPorts and fink co-resident . . .
And others can speak more learnedly on your other questions, but the reasons
to keep things in /opt/local are pretty hard to argue against.

try:

Hi,
you mean like:
php-config --extension-dir

that for me gives '/opt/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-

Enabling them happens in php.ini-file (there are two example ones in
the package, not in use by default), look for a section for extensions.

smpeg Question

2007-11-27 Thread Nathan Brazil
Hi. I just installed the smpeg port on my Intel iMac running Leopard
(10.5.0). Although the port seemed to have installed successfully, I
got a pair of error messages during the fetch phase (see below).

I don't have an E-mail address for the maintainer of this port, which
is listed simply as mww in the Portfile. Can someone help shed some
light on the error messages for me?

Thanks!

Thanks, I'll try to replace it this evening.

Jesse-

I came across your message on the MacPort mailing
list about your 'gzip pipe' problem when I was
researching a similar problem I was encountering.
That thread pointed me at a solution to my problem
that I wanted to pass on in case yours was caused by
the same thing. What had happened to me is somehow
the 'tar' utility was removed from my system (I think
it might have happened when I updated XTools). Try
running 'tar' from an X11 terminal: if it is not
accessible, you probably have the same problem I did.

To fix, I replaced the tar file (there was a backup
copy in /Previous System/usr/bin - you may have to
find it somewhere else), reran the XTools installer,
and everything was fine.

Hope this helps,

Mark

I can confirm this problem running MacPorts trunk, 10.4.11 Intel,
Xcode 2.4.1.

port info smpeg shows you the maintainer email address. Or, to
compute it yourself: If you see a maintainer without an @ in a
portfile, then add @macports.org to get the email address. If you see
a maintainer without an @ in the form b:a, then the email address of
the maintainer is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The port should be updated to grab ltmain and ltconfig from their new
home in the MacPorts repository. You could file a ticket in Trac and
assign it to the maintainer.
