nabi as default X11 input method

2011-01-05 Thread mihozu
Hi list

I'm pretty new to Apple X11 and I try to get nabi, the korean input
method as default input to be able to switch between english and korean
in X11 applications.

I did install nabi via port and add the "export XMODIFIERS="@im=nabi"
to .profile and I can't get to input korean...

As there is no package for input method switcher I wonder how I can
configure X to use nabi.

Do someone have any clue?

Thank you

Yes, the Finder hides filename extensions by default. One of the first things I
do on my Macs is disable that feature. It may help Grandma be less scared of
her computer, but it does not help people who know how computers work. To
disable this feature, choose Preferences from the Finder menu in the menubar,
click Advanced, and check the checkbox "Show all filename extensions."

Re: Autoconf 2.68 vs. 2.67 problem

2011-01-05 Thread Dominik Reichardt
Hi all,

please disregard this all.

The autogen warnings are just that, warnings, which can be avoided by fixing
configure.in files with this information:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-autoconf/2010-09/msg00092.html

The problem with Dosbox was partially that I didn't run into this problem
before for some reason, but to build in 32bit the compiler binaries need to be
set to arch i386 as well.

Problem fixed :)

Thanks anyway and sorry for the spam :)

Ok... thank you!

I got rid of the include AND the "keys { "rndc-key"; };" part of  "allow {
127.0.0.1; } keys { "rndc-key"; };"

and now it works.

Now I just have to figure out what rndc "does" and how to use it rationally.
It seems to be one of those tools which exists and "everybody knows how to use
it."

Re: Problems with gnuplot from marcports

2011-01-05 Thread Marcelo Chiapparini
Hello,

I've just solved the problem with the file not found. The file was edited
with TextEdit in plain text mode. TextEdit added an "txt" extension to the
file, so, the file qhdmmint.gplt was saved as qhdmmint.gplt.txt in the disk.
This was why gnuplot didn't find it! Now, erasing the "txt" and moving
qhdmmint.gplt.txt to qhdmmint.gplt I got my graph normally. The weird thing
is that qhdmmint.gplt.txt appeared without the "txt"extension in Finder,
that was why I was confused with the names...

Thanks a lot for all the responsive feedback

Regards

Marcelo

I've just bought a new iMac, running OS X 10.6. I am using it at home.
In order to maintain compatibility with files created at work, under Linux,
I want to install gnuplot on my Imac. So, I am using MacPorts, which I've

So, I followed the instructions from the MacPorts site, and installed
macports, xcode (the latest version available) and gnuplot. Everything went
fine. Gnuplot works well from the command line. The problems appears when I
try to load and script. When I call gnuplot from the directory of the

mpd 0.16_0 playback issue

2011-01-05 Thread Ivan Kawaler
Has anyone dealt with this issue? mpd launches fine. I then launch my
client, ncmpcpp, and proceed to play a song. It looks like it begins
to play, but then stops and gives me an error saying connection was
refused. At this time I notice that mpd has crashed. Is this an mpd or
ncmpcpp issue? Also, is this a possible bug report? Thanks in advance.

gnuplot qhdmmint.gplt

The nice thing about the aqua terminal is that the window should stick
around.

Looks like 10.6's launchd.plist manpage has it listed (but not 10.5's).

daemondo works on both and can restart based on other triggers (I think
MacPorts only makes use of restart-netchange, though).

Problems with gnuplot from marcports

2011-01-05 Thread Marcelo Chiapparini
Hello,

I've just bought a new iMac, running OS X 10.6. I am using it at home. In
order to maintain compatibility with files created at work, under Linux, I
want to install gnuplot on my Imac. So, I am using MacPorts, which I've
found a very helpful and clever project (thank you guys!).

So, I followed the instructions from the MacPorts site, and installed
macports, xcode (the latest version available) and gnuplot. Everything went
fine. Gnuplot works well from the command line. The problems appears when I
try to load and script. When I call gnuplot from the directory of the
scritp, I get the following:

Yggdrasill2:cbpf marcelo$ gnuplot

G N U P L O T
Version 4.4 patchlevel 2
last modified Wed Sep 22 12:10:34 PDT 2010
System: Darwin 10.5.0

gnuplot home: http://www.gnuplot.info
faq, bugs, etc: type "help seeking-assistance"
 immediate help: type "help"
plot window: hit 'h'

Terminal type set to 'aqua'

gnuplot> load "qhdmmint.gplt"
 ^
 Cannot open load file 'qhdmmint.gplt'
util.c: No such file or directory

The file qhdmmint.gplt is in the directory from which I called gnuplot, so I
don't understand the error... I've googled the internet, with no success.
Any help will be very welcome,

Regards

Marcelo

that would have created /opt/local/etc/rndc.conf (and rndc would just work for
you).

the example rndc-confgen prints when you don't use '-a' looks like yours except
without using the 'include' (but including the contents from rndc.conf in the
named.conf, you could try that...

I recently installed bind9. Works just like I want it to.

All I did to make 'rndc' work was

sudo rndc-confgen -a
sudo kill -SIGHUP pid-of-daemondo-that-runs-named
sudo rndc status

The only changes I made to the named.conf file were

add IP address to the 'listen-on' line
add an include line for the zone file that I want to be SOA for
change the log file lines - file "/var/log/dns_query.log" versions 7
size 20M;

If I run

sudo named-checkconf

I get no errors.
