How to request new ports?

2024-02-05 Thread lars.sonchocky-helld...@hamburg.de
Hello List,

I have a question: How would I request a port of a software I need, e.g. what’s
the right way to do this?

At work I am recently using:

https://github.com/yonaskolb/XcodeGen

to build iOS-Projects, there is a HomeBrew formula for installing this but it
doesn’t seem to be in macports. I prefer macports for several reasons and don’t
want to switch to HomeBrew.

Another software needed to build the bespoken projects is:

https://github.com/fastlane/fastlane

for which also a HomeBrew formula exists:

https://docs.fastlane.tools/getting-started/ios/setup/

But it is not in macports too.

So my question: what do I have to do to get ports for those?

Kind regards,

Lars

Re: Macports Terminal

2023-07-21 Thread lars.sonchocky-helld...@hamburg.de
Open Terminal.app. It is located in the Folder „Applications“ (in German
„Programme“) and there in the subfolder „Utilities“ (in German
„Dienstprogramme“). Note that the localization of the folder names are just a
thing for displaying those folders in the Finder, their real name is indeed
english.

HTH,

Lars

Outdated ports

2022-04-21 Thread lars.sonchocky-helld...@hamburg.de
Hi,

I have a general question: What to do with outdated ports? File a bug at GitHub?

Specifically, we are talking about this port: QEMU. Here is a new version:
https://wiki.qemu.org/ChangeLog/7.0 which I would like to see in MacPorts.

Cheers,

Lars

https://www.gnu.org/software/libtool/

says (at the end of the page):

„Maintainer

Libtool is currently looking for a maintainer.“

I think that might be the cause.

Thanks Josh, that was the right hint! I did the following:

• touch /tmp/.com.apple.dt.CommandLineTools.installondemand.in-progress
• softwareupdate -l
• Run Software Update
• rm /tmp/.com.apple.dt.CommandLineTools.installondemand.in-progress

and everything went fine from there on!

Hi there,I’ve got a brand new MBP 16’’ from my employer and tried to use MacPorts on that.Since it is so new it sports macOS Big Sur 11.3 and Xcode 12.5I know both are very recent and came out just a couple of days ago, so I am not expecting the impossible.Installing MacPorts itself went flawlessly but when I tried to install some ports (git, ImageMagick, … I gave up after those failed) I got the same error repeatedly:clang: error: invalid version number in 'MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=11.3‘is this error already known and is it even a MacPorts error, e.g. should I file a bug report? Thanks,	LarsAnfang der weitergeleiteten Nachricht:Von: Lars Sonchocky-Helldorf <sonchocky-helld...@silpion.de>Betreff: Error: Processing of port git failedDatum: 1. I tried a "sudo port -v install inkscape +quartz“ on a 10.14.6 machine but
failed like this. Is this an already known issue or am I doing something wrong?
