IIRC I also tried it with suspend to disk (suspend2), without success.
This sounds logical, as from the computers point of view, suspend to
disk should be the same as a shutdown.

this is to wake up my macmini when I am travelling in order to access some
data or to run some jobs.
I want to  connect to my router by ssh , WOL the macmini and then ssh to it.
-to-ram is more energy consuming, and its only advantage  compared to
-to-disk is the restart speed that is not an issue in my case
