Strange vo problem

2009-05-19 Thread Arthur Pirika

hi, I'm helping out a friend, and just yesterday, we noticed that while vo
was working for the most part, it wasn't seeming to be tracking the cursor
in finder with the standard arrow keys. vo keys, specifically using numpad
commander worked just fine. All the defaults were set for the various cursor
tracking options, and other tables, such as those found in adium or the vo
utility are working just fine, it's only the view of files in finder that's
not working right. Any suggestions here, maybe a varify/repair disk
permissions cycle? And, can this be done from the disk utility on the
running system, or do we have to pull out the installation dvd?

thanks,
Arthur.

Re: Strange vo problem

2009-05-19 Thread chantel cuddemi

Hi, Arthur,
You should try to do the permissions repair from the disc utility. You
don't need the instllation disk to run repair permissions.

2009-05-19 Thread Brandon Misch

Hey all. am using the latest version or beta of adium. for some reason
when i recieve contact authorizations, i can't accept them. when i hit
on authorize, it won't authorize. is there a fix for this? the only
way i can fix this is to downgrade to the last version. can someone
look into this. the authorization window of 1.3.4 was accessible. this
one is too but when you try to authorize a contact, it won't work.
thanks for looking into this.

I even tried to authorize someone. It didn't work, even when I routed
the mouse to the button.
Boy, I think this is a major bug in adium.
Maybe we should report this as a bug.

Jpeg to text converter? Google? / Kurtzwiel 3000 question

2009-05-19 Thread Jenny Kennedy (Howard)

Hi there,

Hopefully somebody out there can help me.
I've 2 somewhat related things.

First.
I have documents, PDFs, and others that are text but it is the kind of
text that is just an image of text. I can not access them and need to
for a project I'm working on. I thought I heard someplace that google
had a tool that would convert say Jpg files or PDFs that are images of
pages with text into accessable documents. Is this true? or is there
software that can convert scanned images into text? If so where?

Secondly I want to try the Kurtzwiel 3000 software for the Mac as it
seems as if it would do the above task. However when I go to download
the demo I get a file not found message. Have tried downloading
directly from K.E.S. inc's webpage and via third parties like
download.comish type places and nothing I try gets me the download.
Anyone know where I can find a trial copy? I've contacted Kurtzwiel
and still waiting on what they are going to say. Thought I'd check
here as well.

Thank you for any help you can offer.
