Re: very peculiar behavior change with audible.com

2011-01-01 Thread Dan Roy
Are you finding the toolbar next to each audio book, it is usually right after
the title. If so, you have to interact with that toolbar a play/pause, mute,
rewind 30 seconds and 1 other button will then appear. I hope this helps.

Tips for Using Teamtalk?

2011-01-01 Thread Al Puzzuoli
Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone can offer some tips for using the Mac version of
Teamtalk? Is there a more accessible, classic version as there is on the PC?
I ask because upon installing V 4.1, I'm running into issues interacting with
various elements of the program. There appears to be an unknown control in the
main window, but if I interact with it, I can't see anything under it. I can
access the menus and for example, bring up the server list dialog, but I can't
seem to find any way to interact with that dialog either. What am I missing?
Thanks,

I keep thinking there was an application to do that but I can't for the life
of me remember it's name. Try typing in "Trackpad" in the app store and see
what you get. Since you have an iPad, your results may vary from iPhone or
iPod Touch users.

Does the Apple TV need to be connected to a TV?

2011-01-01 Thread Brett Campbell
Is the Apple TV required to be connected via HDMI to a TV? I realize it would
need to be connected to have VoiceOver initially started with sighted

Re: convincing the sighted provider of my tech that mac's the way to go?

2011-01-01 Thread Cheree
Cheree Heppe here:

That depends on where you are located. Some Canadian provinces have low
interest loan and other programs to obtain equipment.

Some U.
s. states do this also, but there seemed to be an inordinate amount of red tape
involved in using the service.

The other way would be to circumvent the usual rehab funding altogether and
work up your proposal, then make the rounds of service clubs, such as Lions and
whatever you have there to raise the necessary assistance.

I would also approach the Apple stores and repair shops to see if you could
obtain a refurb or get some sort of discount, design a payment plan that
results in the equipment after you have paid it all, etc.

If worse comes to worse, write your member of parliament or congress or whoever
might be able to leverage more immediate results.

Some people have approached banks to see if there are low interest loans or
churches to see if there are special assistance funds.

Regards,
Cheree Heppe

P.S.: You may want to be skilled enough with your proposed equipment to be
able to demonstrate that you can use it effectively. It may help if you can
get someone to video you using the equipment in various mods: E-mailing, word
processing, web serving, and use that video when you do your presentations for
funding.

Naturally, when doing the video and the presentations, you will want to look
the part and be as nicely turned out as the situation calls for.

Re: mobile me question

it is important to note two things, firstly on any device you use Mobile Me on
you must configure the sync settings the same on both devices. secondly, Mobile

you can in Mobile Me on any Mac force the sync process, but not on an iPhone or

one thing to note when using iOS devices is to make sure that push settings
are enabled in settings under Mail, Contacts and Calendars. be sure that you
either have push or a setting in the pull or fetch option. you can later change
this, but initially the data will not be pushed or pulled if this is not set
correctly.

A couple of us have experienced something very strange with FaceBook and Adium

others can initiate a text chat with us, but contacts don't show-up in the
contacts list. Any ideas?

Re: Strange Keyboard issue

Hi Jane,

to remove items from the Dock press CTRL + Option + Shift + M to open the
context menue of a certain item. There you'll find "Options" with a sub menue.
Open that and choose "remove from the dock". Then it should be removed.

To move from item to item just use the left and right arrow keys.

Good luck

convincing the sighted provider of my tech that mac's the way to go?

2011-01-01 Thread brandt
Hi there folks,

Due to the weakness of our currency, I am reliant on outside assistance for
most of my tech. Now, where would I find a compelling blog post or article
giving reasons to go to Mac instead of the expensive/(illegal if you don't want
to pay) combo of Pc + windows + expensive screen reader,
Jaws/Window-eyes/hal/etc. The reason I'm asking is because I'm fed up of
cracking *cough cough cough* screen reading technology.

Folks, help here, don't sue or report.

Hi new mac user:
You'll be able to import those pretty easily. Depending on your mail, You
can save the file as a CSV (meaning comma separated values), and import it.
Most likely there's a way to do this with favorites. But, I haven't
attempted it.
Think you'll love the Mac.

Any thoughts about this situation? I must say though that it's been like

Re: vmware fusion issue

2011-01-01 Thread Earle M. Harrison
Denice,
Pressing Control-Command-Enter will cycle you between your single window and
full window views. Within the single window view VO-Arrow until you see the
your SD card and press VO-Space to connect it to Windows.

HTH.

Having trouble sharing a link on FB

2011-01-01 Thread Kevin Gibbs
Guys,
This is my first post on my new Mac Mini. I'm actually doing okay.
One problem I'm having is the inability to share videos that I find on
other people's walls and which I want to post to my own profile. I
choose the share button and I can see the dialog that comes up.
Unfortunately, the only way I can hit the Share button in that dialog
is to turn Voiceover off and use my vision to move the mouse to the
share button and tap on my Magic Trackpad. Clearly, that's not the
way to do this. Also, I can't figure out how to put a comment in the
comment box that is in the share dialog that comes up when I hit the
share button associated with the video I wish to add to my own wall.
Can anyone guide me through the process?
