Re: yet more regarding youtube

2013-10-05 Thread Terje Strømberg
Hi

How do you know if it is a flash player or html player? Voice Over only says
"Group" on this mac.

I found a way to interact with Voice Over on this player. Don`t know if it is a
html 5 or flash player. The player is a frame. If you are using a bluetooth
keyboard you may use the FN key in combination with the commands described
below. At the bottom there is a link to a you tube video about some fruit, but
below that video there is written You Tube player commands.

1. First interact with html - VO-SHIFT-M
2. Go to next frame by typing the command key VO-COMMAND-F
3. Type the mouse down command - SHIFT-VO-COMMAND+SPACEBAR
4. Type k to play and pause.
 5. Type M to mute and unmute. Arrow up or down to increase or decrease volume.
 6. ESC to minimase the You Tube player window may be nescessary

Take care

Yep, I use it too. The only drawback I can see is that there seems to be no

Re: cannot play Youtube videos

2013-10-05 Thread Ray Foret jr
I tell you the srange thing about this. I got and downloaded MacTubes. When I
played a video through it, somehow, that seems to have fixed the volume and
playback issues.

MacTubes is a fine little app, but, sadly, there seems to be no way to
administer one's account through it.

Youtube not working? Try Mactubes

2013-10-05 Thread Alex Hall
Hi all,
For those who cannot get Youtube to work, which seems to be everyone at the
moment, give Mactubes a try. It's free, and lets you not only view videos, but
download them as well. It has full playlist support, the ability to search by
keywords or authors, and a lot more, and is fully accessible. You might need to
listen for help tags and label some buttons based on them, but once you do that
the app is just fine. Note that it does not have an automatic download option,
so if it ever stops playing videos, see if there is an update. Also, it offers
three different playback options; if Flash doesn't work, try Quicktime instead
(it is a setting right in the dropdown menus). Anyway, here's the link:

Yes, I have noticed this too, unfortunately, if you play a video that requires
flash, there will be no way to change this, the question is, why is the volume
all of a sudden defaulting to the lowest setting?

Copy music to cD

2013-10-05 Thread Helena Fehr
Ther are several ways to do this. The one way is like you said, to import your
Cd to iTunes, and then go to the apple menu, by pressing BOM, right arrowing to
file, and down rrowing till you hear New playlist, and entering on that, and
calling it whatever the cD is called. Then you simply find the songs in your
music, and copy it to the clipboard and pasting it in the Playlist. If that
doesn't work, you could go to the plyist tab on your iTunes, (it'll say songs
radio-button, albums, radio-button and so on, and you just go to your Music
pop-up button, and either tab or VO-right arow until you hear playlists
radio-button), and then you will find a table-list beside it with your
playlists in there. Then you'd go in there and select the playlist you made for
your cD, and then you'd get out of that table and VO-right arrow or tab until
you hear add button, and VO-Space on that. Then you go back to your music list,
and find your songs, and coy them to the clipboard, and then move back right
till you here something like zero items or something, and paste the song right
there. (Command C for copy and Command V for paste). Then you go back to your
music and do the same for the next song, till all the songs are there. To make
sure they're all there, you can go to the right of that add button till it says
Playlist table, and Wah-Lah, there your songs will be.
Another simpler way, is to put your music cd into your CD-drive, and something
will appear in your finder besides Mackintosh Hd or whatever else you've got in
your finder, and you open that, and when you hear what sounds to be your songs,
you just xelect them all and put them into your documents or somewhere you know
they will be. Then you take the CD back out, and put in a blank CD, and simply
copy and paste or move that folder you just copied your music into, onto the
thing that appears in your finder where your blank cd is; whatever it's called,
it'll look like a folder with nothing in it. As long as the blank CD is made
for music then, and you're copying music onto it, you shouldn't have any
problems with playing it on a sterio or something else.
There. sorry for the long explanations, but I hope this helps.
God bless!!!
Helena

In addition to what Greg mentioned, if you wish to use VO with Chrome,

I use to use chrome box but stopped as I really didn't like it, but I have

yet more regarding youtube

2013-10-05 Thread Ray Foret jr
It seems that if a video is not an HTML 5 video, it will not play in Safari
anymore. I do have the latest flash player. Also, I discovered that every
single time I do click on an HTML 5 video, the volume is all the way down to
zero on the player and there is no way to play videos which are not HTML 5 at
all.

Any thoughts?

with respect to Youtube playback problem

2013-10-05 Thread Ray Foret jr
Watch out for the volume playback of Youtube videos. IF you find that when you
click on a Youtube video and it won't play, look for the Volume slider in the
HTML 5 player area. to turn up the volume, (which will default to zero and
thus make you think that the video is not playing) just use the up arrow key.
