RE: My Braille Edge 40 and myApple devices
Hi Lisette, That's interesting. The customer was using Braille Edge Firmware 1.1 and iOS6 on an iPhone 4S or 5 I think and it would fail every time. Once he upgraded to iOS7, all was well. I've had no problems here so I guess some of us are lucky. Good to know that it all worked for you. Cheers. Re: New Member and a question
Hi George, Here is the instructions you wanted I found this in the mail archives Move vo to the mailbox in the favorites bar, then route the mouse there (vo-cmd-f5). Disable cursor tracking with vo-shift-f3, then lock the mouse down with vo-cmd-shift-space. Move vo to somewhere in the mail window that has nothing in it, like a splitter, and route the mouse again, then unlock the mouse button with another press of vo-cmd-shift-space. That should do it, but if it fails, close Mail and re-open it, then try again. Also, don't forget to turn cursor tracking back on with vo-shift-f3. Hi Don, You can uninstall apps just by moving them to the trash. I, however, recommend that people purchase an app called “app delete.” http://www.reggieashworth.com It will uninstall the app and cleanup any unnecessary files that the app may have left behind. Finding audible books once downloaded to your computer
Hi all, I saw on the audible website, you don’t need any extra download software, the books will download to itunes. I haven’t tried downloading from audible on my mac yet, but a friend of mine said he couldn’t find his books in the books section of itunes. Would they be in the downloads section? or would they be in Ibooks? I saw an update to ibooks that said your itunes books now show up in IBooks. kind regards, Andrew Sent from my 11 inch macbook air -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: My Braille Edge 40 and myApple devices
Hey Scott I am running iOS 7 .4 whenever the latest thing is. I have Mavericks as well. I finally got Mavericks to work with my braille Edge 40 but not my iPhone. I have a 5s. I have decided that I am going to eliminate mechanical difficulties from this equation by getting everything checked out to make sure there are no mechanical problems lurking here. It's going to be a few days before I can do this, but I think I need to do that. By the way, my braille display worked fine with iOS 6. It worked fine with Mountain lion. Re: Safari 2 items, 3 items and internal link?
Hi, Have you looked at the advanced verbosity settings within the VO Utility? When in the Verbosity pane of VO Utility, check the box for Advanced Speech Verbosity options, then Interact with the Table and go down the list. You could change the verbosity level for specific elements to a lower level. This may reduce VO’s verbosity for those sorts of elements to a level you more prefer. RE: My Braille Edge 40 and myApple devices
Hi iOS 6 does not work with the Braille Edge 40. At least, I had a customer who couldn't get it to work. If they ran iOS7 the edge paired with no problem. I have an edge here and it's working fine with both Mavericks and iOS7. Make sure you are running firmware 1.1 build 20130809 Happy to help you off list with specifics to fix this. Cheers.
