Re: anybody good with trillian?

2015-05-10 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
Hi Jeff. I find that with Trillian it works the best with Growl. It's kinda
hard to explain how to enable Growl to talk when messages come through so if
you want to either FaceTime me or add me to Skype you can do so. My Skype
username is bbstheblindrapper and my FaceTime is the same as this email
address. And if you don't have Growl it's $1.99 in the App Store so I suggest
you get it.

Re: dropbox site

2015-05-10 Thread Pamela Francis
Hi Jean,
Information is very helpful. I certainly do appreciate it.
I am in the process of gaining a couple of external hard drives for the purpose
of working with radio.
I need the extra space for the music. Also the people I work with use that paid
account to exchange files. Fortunately, it's all legal. I don't understand the
lack of responsiveness by dropbox given that their mobile app is accessible,
yet their website is crap. I will retain the thoughtful email you were kind
enough to write out for me. I certainly do appreciate it; more than you know.
Best regards,

Pam Francis

What they don’t clarify in their adverts for the 1 tarabyte storage is that any
files stored on your dropbox are duplicated on your hard drive as well. So
unless you have a huge hard drive on your computer, you will be unable to
upload all of your files without hopelessly clogging up your hard drive.

There is another option which I have found to be quite workable. I reassigned
my dropbox to an external hard drive and have all the files stored on that.
The only thing you have to remember is that copying files into your dropbox on
the external drive does not automatically upload them. You have to make sure
the dropbox app is opened and operational. This is easily accomplished though
in the applications folder and opening dropbox app.

By the way, I did communicate with dropbox about the inaccessibility of their
site but they were unresponsive.

Re: Sounds on macbook air

2015-05-10 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Sort of. What you’d do is decrease your VO volume, leaving your System volume
up higher. So, turn it up with the F12 like Alex mentioned, then you can press
VO-cmd-left or right until you here VO announce “Volume”, then VO-cmd-down
arrow to lower the VO volume. Alternatively, you can set the VO volume in the
VO Utility in the Sound panel.

Re: Website navigation question

2015-05-10 Thread Pamela Francis
Hi,
Thank you so much for the VO J suggestion. My question to you is this, if I'm
not looking for a radio button per se, will it identified the beginning of a
text field as in name, to the right of that being text field. I can get to the
text fields. However I cannot find out what information goes in those text
fields with voiceover. To my knowledge, they are not buttons.

Using VO+left or right absolutely will not work. Once you've landed on a

I tried not interacting, to no avail. I prefer to use voiceover versus
magnification, as it is normally faster for me, unless I come across a
situation as I have described above. Can someone please tell me how to
negotiate that screen if you had any experience with it. Any and all
suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'm going to have to resort to
asking my daughter to take care of something that should be simple. Thanks a
lot dropbox.
I tried it with both Safari and chrome.

Re: Sounds on macbook air

2015-05-10 Thread Alex Hall
F11 is volume down, f12 is volume up. You may need to hit the function key
(bottom left) in conjunction, depending on your settings. Note that adding
option-shift will adjust volume in much smaller increments. Note, too, that f10
will mute or un-mute, so if you lose sound, check the mute status before
anything else.

Hello,
So I have played with this a lot this weekend. I discovered that you can do
Skype video on the iPhone 6 Plus. I have it all worked out and have tried it a

because I may not have Wi-Fi where I will be at the time of the interview. Now,

Re: Website navigation question

2015-05-10 Thread Ray Foret Jr
That is one page they sure need to recode. The trick here is to press the
change button. Now, here's the tricky part. To actually get focus where you
want it, you'll have to use VO+j to move from radio button to radio button.
Using VO+left or right absolutely will not work. Once you've landed on a
button using VO+j, you can then actuvate it using VO+space.
HTH.

 Hi,

My 2012 Macbook Air has suddenly become slow to boot up.

I am running Yosemite and have the hard drive encrypted. I used to be able

last week, I have had to wait around half a minute before the password box
 appears.

I’m not aware of having installed anything in particular over the past seven

become slow to boot and what I might try? The machine does not seem to be any
 slower during actual operation.

Re: how to add Skype contact

2015-05-10 Thread Ray Foret Jr
You want to check your history. That's the fifth tab over on the very right.
You'll find these tabs just off the tool bar.
