Good Day:

The converter is in a frame following the first heading on the main
page. If you interact with it, it guides you through the four phases of
conversion. When the page updates, you may have to refocus VoiceOver, but the
web interface is certainly useable.

No, it's not there on Yosemite 10.10.3. The closest thing I see is to
automatically speak alerts when displayed, but I gather that is for all
alerts, not just the battery. I don't want the things speaking every single
God forsaken alert. I only want it telling me when my battery's low.

Subject: Navigating to the ribbon in Office 2015

Hello All,

Okay, so I updated to Word 2016 current version and I have toggled on to
show the ribbon with COMMAND-OPTION-R. Maybe I’m missing something, but I
can’t navigate to it, so I can see if an additional edit field has been
added to send my report to Microsoft. This has been very exasperating to
say
the least in sending my input on how to make Word 2016 more accessible to
the blind. If anyone can shed some light on how to move to the ribbon bar
with ease would be most appreciated.

The only item I have tried out so far is the spell checker. At first, the
automatic correction was turned on, so I made the necessary changes in
preferences. I like to have control on making my corrections. However, the
same problem exists where when the spell checker is activated, that the
word
that is misspelled is an image, so voiceover has no chance in voicing the
word in question. It’s only when I tab over to the suggestion table that I
am able to know what is the problem. I thought I would comment on which
bug

is still a bug in Word 2016 that I wanted to send to MS.

Thanks for your assistance.

Best,
Eileen

I thought I would comment on which bug
is still a bug in Word 2016 that I wanted to send to MS.

Thanks for your assistance.

Best,
Eileen

Just to clarify my suggestion: if you use Ctrl-Option-Left-Arrow/Right-Arrow

Hello All,

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Currently, I'm waiting for MS Outlook to
finish its update. I'll look at these suggestions when the computer settles
down. It was a fluke that I was able to find the edit field to send the
feedback to MS in the help tab. I know that there are veteran users of VO here
than I and I need to switch and not use the familiar keystrokes on the PC side.
It's hard to do. Thanks again.

Re: Navigating to the ribbon in Office 2015

2015-05-24 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Eileen,

Whenever you have a problem finding an element on a page in any application,
try using the Item Chooser (VO-i). It can save you a whole lot of frustration.

In Word, I just tried it with Home and it put me in the ribbon. When I entered
Help, it found Help MicroSoft improve Office, or whatever it said.

Cheers,

Anne

RE: The Audible Player on the Mac.

2015-05-24 Thread Marcia Yale
I play Audible books all the time in iTunes. I think the first time you play
one you will need to authorize the book with your user name and password, but
it has been a long time since the first one so I may be wrong about that.

Hi.

Can anyone tell me if anyone has tried playing their audible books on the Mac
by going into their Library, choosing a book and playing it straight on their
Mac? I know that one can do it by using Windows. I am trying to do this by
using my Mac and see all the controls and buttons which are perfectly
accessible as before when I did this, the Mac Cloud player for Audible was not
accessible and thus you had to use the app on your I phone to play books.

Thanks.

And you can jump through books by chapter in itunes too.

Ctrl-Option-Left-Arrow/Right-Arrow should get you there. Then use
Ctrl-Option-Space on the tab that you want to access, followed by
Ctrl-Option-Fn-Right-Arrow to move to the "scroll area" where the controls of
the selected tab appear, then interact with that area and access the controls
in the usual way.

The only item I have tried out so far is the spell checker. At first, the
automatic correction was turned on, so I made the necessary changes in
preferences. I like to have control on making my corrections. However, the same
problem exists where when the spell checker is activated, that the word that is
misspelled is an image, so voiceover has no chance in voicing the word in
question. It’s only when I tab over to the suggestion table that I am able to
know what is the problem. I thought I would comment on which bug is still a bug
in Word 2016 that I wanted to send to MS.

Thanks for your assistance.
