cannot seem to add stuff back to my iPHone from iTunes

2015-07-05 Thread Ray Foret Jr
Okay.

this here is about to drive me crazy. I somehow lost five custom albums that I
had on my iPHone. They remain in my iTunes libarary and I'd like to get them
back on my iPHone. Using IOS8.4 and iTunes 12.2. merely navigating to the
Music play list and interacting with the scrole area to the left no longer
works. The "all" button is grayed out and I tried this both with Apple music
in the cloud turned on and off. Same thing. When I turned on Apple music in
the cloud in general preserences in iTunes, everything loaded from my Mac to
the cloud but I still can add suff to my iPHone. I don't like the way third
party apps add stuff because they often break up one album in to smaller albums
regardless of the meta data tagging I spent so much time carefully setting up.

Sincerely,
The Constantly Barefooted Ray

yosemite release, what’s stopping you from talking about it, you dig?

In any case, if you aren’t sure about what you did while talking to Apple
representatives, maybe you should consider figuring it out for yourself, as
this is more of an existential or human interaction question you have after
having done this. Think about it: if you spend a lot of time calling Apple
instead of just filing a bug report, you’re only getting a potential support
ticket sent to the engineers. If you report the bug through feedback assistant,
it goes directly to their bug queuing system, which saves third parties moving
the issue up the ladder, and will have someone on it, the more similar bug
reports, the more important it will be flagged as being. I should mention that
if you’re a developer, you don’t have unlimited direct call services. So you’re
effectively depleting direct support in case you have a real issue with apps
you’re developing.

As in for you feeling bad about contacting apple, this is something out of my
scope of relevance.

Re: printing a text message

2015-07-05 Thread Kevin Shaw
Yes, there is a way to print a text message.

Way #1.

Take a screen grab of your iPhone’s screen. Press Sleep/Wake and Home buttons
simultaneously. This photo will appear in the Photos app with the time stamp of
when you took it.
Send to yourself using the Share feature in Photos.

Way #2.
You’ll need a Mac to do this in the Messages app and the you’ll need your
iPhone and Mac set up to use the same iMessage account.
Open messages.
Choose the conversation you want from the conversations table.
Select File menu, then Print.
The transcript of your message can be printed the same way as printing a
document.

good luck.

Watch Screen Activation with VoiceOver Enabled

2015-07-05 Thread Nicholas Parsons
Hi list,

Sorry to be raising this again, but would like to try and clear this up.

I suspect, but am not sure, that enabling “Speak on Wrist Raise” for VoiceOver
on the Watch overrides the general “Wrist Detection” setting, so that with
VoiceOver’s “Speak on Wrist Raise” set to off, the Watch display will not
activate when the user raises his or her wrist.

At least, this is what happens for me. With “Speak on Wrist Raise” turned off,
I need to tap the display to activate it. I’m not sure if this is a bug with my
device only or if this is the expected behaviour for all devices.

Is there anyone whose Watch display activates on wrist raise with the Speak on
Wrist Raise setting disabled?

Many thanks,
Nic

Re: One iTunes Library for two computers, can this be done?

2015-07-05 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Thanks for the responses.

I do not intend to subscribe to the Apple Music once the trial is over. The
radio does not interest me and I don't buy much from the iTunes Music store.
If I want it, I'll just switch it on for the month and switch it off again.

Thanks.

Kawal.

Hi,

As mentioned, it can be done, sort of. That is, One library can be stored on a

Match, within it's 25,000 non-purchased limits, this can essentially be done as
well, without the simultaneous restriction. If both computers have iTunes
libraries, they will be synced up to iCloud using Match without duplication.
Whenever you create a playlist on one, it is automatically created on the

well, but I haven't determined all the intricacies of that mixture yet.

Re: boze speakers for mac

2015-07-05 Thread Caitlyn Furness
The Boze speakers that Mark, my hubby, got himself are Boze companion 5
speakers intended for the computer. They have two little speakers and one
medium sized woofer. they are USB. they do sound pretty great! Everything
is crisp and clear, good highs and lows, etc. They have a volume control that
sits on your desk. It’s really sensitive, though, and it’s easy to make the
volume either too low or too loud seemingly if you just breathe on the control!
 Likewise for muting.

Re: One iTunes Library for two computers, can this be done?

2015-07-05 Thread Kliph
I have done this in the past, and even after i updated it still worked. The
thing is, I run my iTunes library from a network attached storage device. All
3 computers can share the library, but not simotanisly. Meaning, only 1
computer can connect to the library at a time. If you are storing the library
on a computer, home sharing is the way to go. Also, home sharing is not gone
after the update, it is still in the file menu. Just turned it on esterday on
2 out of my 3 computers. So I know this works.

Re: different music playlist behavior when looking at iPhone on iTunes

2015-07-05 Thread Terje Strømberg
The clue is, it looks like every heading is a button, knock on that but and
change category. In library, the button «category» is below the recently added
row. Turn on help in Voice Over to hear what is button or not in new apps.

Take care

5. juli 2015 kl. 20:00 skrev Christine Grassman :

What I really don’t like, and these are the only things so far, is that I
cannot get to my songs, only artists in my library; the shuffle button is not
showing; and as you point out, unless I spend the time creating a playlist, I
have to skip through every single thing in my library, or search for it, rather
than simply the items I want on my iPhone at any particular time. Unless, of
course, I am doing something wrong or missing something.

Re: different music playlist behavior when looking at iPhone on iTunes

2015-07-05 Thread Christine Grassman
What I really don’t like, and these are the only things so far, is that I
cannot get to my songs, only artists in my library; the shuffle button is not
showing; and as you point out, unless I spend the time creating a playlist, I
have to skip through every single thing in my library, or search for it, rather
than simply the items I want on my iPhone at any particular time. Unless, of
course, I am doing something wrong or missing something.

Re: different music playlist behavior when looking at iPhone on iTunes

2015-07-05 Thread Grant
You can't sync music through iTunes if you have Apple Music or iTunes Match
enabled on your iPhone. I suspect this is what has changed. The assumption is
that all of your devices will be signed into the same iCloud account, or that
you'll have set up Family Sharing, and therefore all of your music will be
available in the cloud.

One iTunes Library for two computers, can this be done?

2015-07-05 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hi.

I wish to know if one can share one iTunes Library between two computers,
namely, an I Mac and Mac Mini, over the same network please? I am not very
technical so something simple would be appreciated please. I looked for Home
sharing in the iTunes menus but it's not there since I updated to the 8.4 which
contains Apple Music etc.

Someone from the list helped me to solve my Ring Tone query but now if someone
else could tell me how I can have one iTunes Library for two computers then
that would be great thank you.

Kawal.

different music playlist behavior when looking at iPhone on iTunes

2015-07-05 Thread Ray Foret Jr
Okay.

When I connect my iPhone to iTunes and interact with the scrole area which
normally would allow me to choose what to synchronize or not, I find I can no
longer do this. Say I select the music pplay list and interact with the scrole
area. I cannot then see my play lists or albums to either synchronize or not.
Can anybody tell me how this has changed? All I see is the fact that icloud
music library is on my iPhone and the choice of synching voice memos or not.
Obvkously, the way music is synched to the phone has changed, but can't seem to
work it out. Thanks.

Re: Siri identifying songs and Apple Music

2015-07-05 Thread venky . 92
This does not seem to be working all the times.
I played Beats 1 on my computer, I asked Siri to recognise the song and then,
asked it to add this to my music
It did it
Then, I played a genre based radio on my computer, I asked Siri to do the same
It says sorry, I could not find what u are looking for. It recognised the song
however. What am I doing wrong here?

Siri identifying songs and Apple Music

2015-07-05 Thread Edward Green
Hi,

Given that Siri can identify playing songs, I was wondering whether iOS 8.4
would let you instruct Siri to add a playing song to your Apple Music library
once you’d asked her to identify it, without having to go into Apple Music
later and search for it.

I haven’t been anywhere I can test this, but it strikes me it would be a neat
feature.

I found a couple of clarifying articles which stated quite clearly that this
claim is actually misinformation which has been circulating in recent days.
According to those articles, nothing you upload will acquire DRM, but anything
you download from Apple Music will have it for obvious reasons.

Essentially, what this is saying is that if you have turned on Apple Music, and

download from the cloud, as you would with iTunes Match, may come bundled with

turned on iTunes Music.

So in summary: stay away from iTunes Music and Match will continue to work for
you. Or sign up to Apple Music but never ever download tracks; always keep
them locally.
