Re: A Question for iOS Facebook App Users

2016-07-02 Thread Michael Babcock
never mind, i typed two soon.
I just tried this and that doesn’t seem to work.
it only works when you find the person in a comment, not there original post.
if you two finger double tap on a commenter, view user’s profile is an option.
however it is not an option when you 2 finger double tap on the original post
in the Facebook group….
sorry about the confusion.

A Question for iOS Facebook App Users

2016-07-02 Thread M. Taylor
Hello,

I belong to several Facebook Groups.

What I have discovered is that even though I can read and interact with
posts in the group area, I cannot, it seems, go directly to a poster's
Facebook profile, when VoiceOver is enabled.

In order for me to jump to a poster's Facebook profile, I must first disable
VoiceOver, then, I can simply tap on the poster's Facebook profile photo,
which appears at the beginning of each post.

Try as I may, I have not yet found a way to go to a poster's profile with
VoiceOver enabled.

Question, is there any way to do this?

Here are the steps I take which lead to the problem:

1.
In iOS, open the Facebook app.

2.
Activate the More Tab, located near the bottom right corner of the display.

3.
Select the Groups item. This will display a list of groups of which one is
already a member, as well as some suggested groups, not yet joined.

4.
Select a Group of which I am already a member. A list of posts will appear.

5.
Single-finger, double-tap on a post in order to open it.

>From this point, there does not seem to be a way to go to the poster's
profile page.

All replies welcomed.

Thank you,

Mark

Hi!
A question comes to me regarding the lightning jack.
How much power can you take from the lightning jack versus headphone jack to
drive a pair of headphones?
I now talk about planar headphones or magnetostatic once that for example

The version of Mac OS I am using demonstrates the well-publicized issue of a
sort of quasi-quicknav causing problems with password entry and other areas
when certain keys are used. Without violating anything or causing any sort of
heated discussion, could someone please tell me which version of the OS
precedes this issue? I have just about had all I can take of it and it doesn't
seem to be getting fixed.

Hi All,

Firstly, this is not targeted at anyone in particular. I have received requests
off-list from concerned listers about this topic.

So I want to just ask that we please purge the thinly veiled religious

aspects of it.

Thanks to you all very much and please do have a terrific weekend and Fourth of

Re: Pages or OFfice 2016, need your advice

2016-07-02 Thread Brian Howerton
Hello Anne,
I have the mac pages book that you wrote, and I had a question on styles. Can
we create our own paragraph styles in pages? For example, my papers for grad
school need to be written in Terabian format, and so they have particular ways
that headings need to look, so can I create my own heading 1 paragraph style or
do you have to modify the styles that are already there. Hope this makes
sense. Thanks for the awesome book!

Re: Pages or OFfice 2016, need your advice

2016-07-02 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Pages is better for accessibility than Word. Office 2016 has improved by leaps
and bounds over previous Office products, but I believe that Pages is still
better in the accessibility realm. Regarding moving back and forth between
Pages and Word Docs, Pages will open Word docs and retain formatting, and Pages
has the feature set to export to Word, again retaining the formatting. Realize
that this is Pages, not Word, so there is translation of formats, so
translation isn't always perfect. It does very well, though, as far as I'm
aware.

Re: Pages or OFfice 2016, need your advice

2016-07-02 Thread Arnold Schmidt
If a person writes a document in Pages, can a person using Word open it and
everything will appear as it appeared in Pages? Or, can a person open a
complex Word document in Pages and its formatting will be preserved? I thought
both parties had to use the same word processor to preserve all the formatting.
If I were still writing college level papers, I would have stuck with windows
and word, being that is what everybody else would be using.

  Hello Ramy,

I don’t know whether you can easily do the things you need to do using Word
2016 for Mac, but they can all be done using Pages.
Along with my husband, Archie, I wrote a book on Pages which explains how to
do all the things you need. You can buy it for $35 US from:

Hello Ramy,

I don’t know whether you can easily do the things you need to do using Word
2016 for Mac, but they can all be done using Pages.
Along with my husband, Archie, I wrote a book on Pages which explains how to do
all the things you need. You can buy it for $35 US from:

Re: Formating an SD Card

2016-07-02 Thread Alex Hall
Simply select the card in Disk Utility, then choose Erase from the toolbar. The
option may instead be a button to the right of the disks table, depending on
your version of macOS. Once you hit the button, you can choose the name, file
system, and so on. This is what the Mac calls the process of reformatting.
