RE: StoCard, The Rewards Card App, is Back and Better Than Ever!!

2016-08-14 Thread M. Taylor
Jonathan,

As has been stated, the native Apple Wallet app is extremely limited in its
third-party reward card options.

Stocard allows one to digitize virtually any rewards card so that one does not
have to search around, at the checkout stand, for the correct card.

In the past, even when I had reward cards, I had to depend on a sighted person
to select the correct card for me at checkout. These cards can really save you
money, at times.

I am particularly fond of my Best Buy rewards card which, until Stocard, had no
digital equivalent that was accessible via VoiceOver.

The best part, for me at least, is that Stocard allows you to actually create
Apple Wallet passes for many popular cards.

As we move forward, many apps, such as CVS pharmacy, are implementing their
respective reward cards in their apps but I find this not so nearly convenient
as having all of the cards in one place.

I use my Library card, often, for instance; this is only digitally available in
Stocard.

It's a matter of personal preference but if you can save 1 or 2 dollars here
and there, why not?

Mark

Mark,

I do not have enough reward cards to make this worthwhile, but I thought the
Wallet app that is part of IOS 9 obsoleted all of the reward card apps. Can you
give a brief explanation of the advantages of this app over the builtin version?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Re: How to download and install files on Mac?

2016-08-14 Thread Alex Hall
There are a few possibilities for how Mac software can come packaged. In your
case, you simply interact with the image browser, hit cmd-c on the Audacity
folder, press cmd-shift-a, and cmd-v to paste. Once the copy is complete,
that's it. Launch Audacity from Spotlight, or go into the Audacity folder and
find the app file, optionally adding it to your Dock.

How to download and install files on Mac?

2016-08-14 Thread Sharon Hooley
hi,

I want to be able to install downloaded software from independent sites using
Mac Air and OS 10, Audacity, to be specific. It appears that I downloaded it,
but now I don't know exactly how to install and then run it. I can type
command plus O to open, but I see an image browser, as well as the name of the
file and Applications. What is the image browser, and do I need to use it? I
would appreciate some input, or direction to where I can find it, please.

Thanks,

Sharon H.

Re: Audible.com new library view

2016-08-14 Thread Mary Otten
Are used my phone today to purchase two books in the sale and used to other
credits on the regular site to buy two more books. This was on the phone, not
on the Mac or the PC, so I can't speak to accessibility there. I have actually
never used the Mac to buy an audible book, since the idea of putting books and
iTunes just didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Hello everyone,

Audible has changed its library view and it’s horrible! You have to hover
the mouse over the book’s cover image and click to get the download options.
Sometimes, the mouse simply will not come to the VoiceOver cursor and the
whole thing is very hit and miss.
I’ve chatted with someone at Audible and he’s going to pass my comments on
to the web designers.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Cheers,

Hi. I’ve recently purchased a HP Stream 11.6in netbook as I didn’t want to
take an expensive Macbook Air out and about with me. It does get confusing at
times as I have to remember commands for 2 operating systems. I sometimes find
myself initiating windows commands on the Mac.

You’re exactly right, learning a new operating system is similar in some
ways to learning a new language. You have to in my mind fully immerse your

time I had to make the switch and fight through it. Just like landing in Paris
and having a crash course in French.

Another thing you have to learn is new muscle memory for your fingers and
the keyboard commands. At first I don’t know how many times I hit control
escape to go back to the start menu from the old windows days when I made the
switch. All new commands + new terminology and ways of doing things make
switching platforms a steep learning curve at first. Stick with it though,
you’ll be glad you did. I’m a Mac user now for about 8 years and would never
go back to Windows. Plus, as an old Unix guy and Network Engineer now having a
Unix environment available with terminal is absolutely the bees knees for me.

of windows to remember new commands and layouts, and places.
  Again thanks so much.

Request for Help with Numbers for iOS

2016-08-14 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

I need a little help with getting started with the Numbers app, for iOS.

If there is anyone who would be willing to have a short voice conversation
either on the telephone or via Skype, I would appreciate it a great deal.

My questions are not complicated but, as time is a factor, I would much

Just to confirm, you would like to reset voiceover for the Mac, correct?
If so, under VoiceOver utilities, you need to go to the file menu, and under I
believe the option should be, reset all preferences. If somebody else can
confirm that, and correct me if need be, please? Otherwise, that's only way
that I know how to reset voiceover on Mac. If you're talking about the iPhone,
however, I'm not sure that you can resend voiceover.

Hello Everyone,

I am delighted to announce that, with this latest release, StoCard, Rewards

Stocard - Rewards Cards Wallet
By Stocard

Description

Featured as one of the best apps of the year by Apple in Europe and now
available in the US!

Store ALL your rewards cards in one app on your iPhone - with Stocard. Get
rid of all the plastic cards in your wallet! FREE!

Wall Street Journal: "a clever way of turning a smartphone into a virtual
wallet"
Techcrunch: "a simple but clever take on the mobile
phone-as-loyalty-card-wallet"

FAST:
The built in high-tech-camera scanner enables you to add loyalty cards
within seconds.
Have your phone's screen scanned for a faster transaction at properly
equipped stores*.

EASY TO USE:
No registration necessary, start using Stocard right after downloading.
Choose from over 400 preset loyalty cards.
Add any not preset loyalty card as an "other loyalty card".
Securely store your cards in the cloud

Several stores still use outdated scanner technologies (laser or flatbed
scanners instead of image scanners). These scanners unfortunately cannot
read smartphone displays. In this case simply ask the cashier to type in
your loyalty card number manually.

CARDS IN WALLET:
Add any card in Stocard with a QR code to Wallet.

Preferences and Rules on Icloud.com for mail, where has it gone?

2016-08-14 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hello.

Today I need to delete a rule for one of my mailboxes which I set up on
Icloud.com as you could do that globally. For some reason, I can’t fine
preferences for mail on the Icloud.com website as I used that website to set up
all my rules for all my incoming mail so I’d have a mailbox for Macvisionaries
and other mailboxes for other lists that I am on. I really liked that set up
but when I go to Icloud.com today, I can’t find, account and preferences and
then mail rules so that I can delete one of my rules for the mailbox as I
deleted one of my mailboxes. So if anyone can tell me how I can set up and
delete my rules globally please? That also is going to affect my Two step
verification as I too use to go to Icloud.com to set and delete my trusted
devices. So if someone can tell me how I will manage two step verification if
that setting is not on the I cloud.com website then that is going to be a
problem for me. I hate it when a company changes stuff for the sake of change.
There was nothing wrong with Icloud.com as they had it fixed and now they have
taken some of the features away. Please note I have not been on Icloud.com
since I got my I phone 6 S Plus and that is a long time ago.

Most annoying.

Kawal.

Hi,

At the moment, The stock Apple Wallet app does not support as many reward cards
as we may like. Therefore, the Stockard app fills in the gap and seems to also
have Wallet integration for some apps.

Have you been there in the past few days? It really has changed completely, and

I haven't seen an update to the beta for a while,

But the battery life in my s plus isnt' as good as ios 9 was

But each of us use their devices differently so the battery life will differ

I haven’t discussed the beta trying to be careful but Simon, your experience
mirrors mine. My battery life is much improved on the 6s+ running the latest
10.0 release.

I was very skeptical about this release but the last update has sold me. I
also had call stability problems but they also seem improved.
