Creating an Apple Mail E-Mail Folder

2017-02-08 Thread Angus MacKinnon
I feel a bit silly for asking this. Using El Capitan, how can I create an Apple
Mail E-Mail Folder for this Mailing List? Thank you. I wish to have E-Mails
from this list go into a folder and not go into my InBox.

A keyboard command like that would be great.

I think you want my old Talking Dashboard scripts. I actually don't have the

Re: Quickly Identifying the Currently Playing Track In iTunes

2017-02-08 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

It appears that you're in Album view and my suggestion won't work in that view.
I suggest that you use a HotSpot instead. So, when a song is playing,
interact with the LCD Panel. Navigate to the title of the song that is
playing, then press VO-shift-1. This will set that exact location as HotSpot
#1. So, anytime you wish to hear the name of the currently playing song, just
press VO-1 and VO should read whatever text is at that HotSpot location. the
limitation with this method is that the HotSpots are usually lost whenever
iTunes is quit.

Hi:
I’m having a weird ibooks issue on my Mac. Somehow, ibooks is associating
itself with the wrong apple id. It is trying to use my icloud id not my itunes
id. Everything works fine on my iphone, but not my Mac. Manually rying to type
in the corect apple id and password does not work. I’ve tried signing out and
back in with the same issue. Any idea?

Re: Quickly Identifying the Currently Playing Track In iTunes

2017-02-08 Thread Brian Hansen
Hi Tim

When I hit CMD-l, VO says, the phrase “current song”, and then album, but
nothing else after that. It doesn’t actually announce the song title.

Blessings,

Brian

EbscoHost Download Help

2017-02-08 Thread Emilio Hernandez
Hello everyone,

I have an issue that I wonder if some in this group could maybe help me with?
I am trying to use EbscoHost on the iPhone to save articles, so I can view them
on my iMac, but when invoking the gesture to “download” the PDF, so i can
E-mail it to myself I am not having any luck.
Does anyone in this group use EbscoHost with the iPhone?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Re: Quickly Identifying the Currently Playing Track In iTunes

2017-02-08 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

While in iTunes, you could press cmd-l to move focus to the currently playing
song and VO should announce what it is right away.

Later...

and 2012 iMac. I use Nuance Karen as my VoiceOver voice. VoiceOver speech
goes silent when I’m using just the arrow keys to navigate the Finder in
column view mode. I can get speech back again by interacting with the
Finder browser and navigating up and down a few times using the arrow keys
and the VO keys. Speech will then work normally again for a little while
before I encounter the same problem again.

Also, forgot to mention this, but I think that ad was misleading. The last
MacBooks to have DVD drives in them were I think either the 2012 or 2013
models. Someone can clear that up for me if I'm wrong but 2010 models were
certainly not the last ones in them to have DVD drives in them.

Yep that would explain why Alex is crashing your computer. It's an issue
with 2010 Macs that needs to be addressed but probably won't be. I would
use a different voice.

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for that. You are correct, it is a mid 2010 laptop.
It runs circles around my mac mini mid 2009 model, so I'm extremely happy
with it.

Hey Chris, if you went to the Apple Menu and About This Mac, you could find
out what year it's from. I kinda find that odd that a 2012 machine would
have the Alex issue because it's only 4 years old but who knows. I know
that 2010 models have this which is why I'm avoiding Alex like the plague
until Apple fixes him. And I assume that you're running Sierra.2 so my
question about Alex crashing older Macs like mine has been answered, and
sadly it still is.
