I have done this once so let me try to explain it. YOu go into select mode,
once you have selected the books you want to hide, all the way to the end there
is an option that says hide, this should be right after delete or create a
collection.

2017-10-09 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Cliff and thank you for replying.

Have you actually hidden any book titles in iBook 4.12 (iOS 10) or iBook 4.13
(iOS 11)?

Try as I may, I cannot locate any option to hide a title.

If you could provide a step-by-step walkthrough, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Mark

Re: Problem with Mail on iPad under iOS 11

2017-10-09 Thread Alex Hall
Exploring by touch, there's the message list on the left, and the rest of the
screen says "dismiss popup. Double tap to dismiss popup." But swiping left or
right reads elements of the email message which should be closed, as though
that message were still being displayed. It's as though touching and swiping
are seeing two different things.

Can One Still Submit App Reviews via iTunes 12.7?

2017-10-09 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

I realize this may sound like a strange question, but, given that I have
loaned out my iTunes 12.7 Windows PC and I have not yet updated to iTunes
12.7 on my Macs, I pose the following question:

Given that Apple has removed app management from the desktop computer, can
one still submit app reviews via iTunes 12.7?

I would hate to think that one is now limited to using an iOS device for
such an endeavor.

All replies appreciated.

Mark

Please Join Me in Requesting that the Twitter for iOS VoiceOver TrendsForYou Bug, Be Resolved As Soon As Possible

2017-10-09 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

I am cross-posting this to both the V iPhone and Mac Visionaries mailing
list.

As of the latest Twitter for iOS app release, v7.8, VoiceOver users cannot
access article headlines located in the "Trends for You" area.

Please join me in requesting that the Twitter for iOS VoiceOver "Trends for
You" bug be resolved as soon as possible.

The following is the review I posted in the App Store. You are welcome to
use any or all of it in your feedback to Twitter:

[BEGIN REVIEW]
SUBJECT:
Request to Fix VoiceOver Accessibility "Trends For You" Bug

Unlike in previous versions of the app, in the latest release of Twitter for
iOS (v7.8), VoiceOver, Apple's software screen reading solution for the
blind and low vision, cannot access the "Trends for You" area of the app.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1.
Make certain that VoiceOver is enabled.

2.
>From within the Twitter for iOS app, select the "Search and Explore" tab,
located near the bottom center of the display. The current headline article
will be displayed. This area of the screen is VoiceOver accessible.

3.
Either by single-finger swiping from left-to-right or using
explore-by-touch, place VoiceOver focus on the "Trends for You" heading,
located just above the middle center of the display.

4.
Now, single-finger swipe from left-to-right in order to read the currently
trending article headlines. In previous versions of the app, the trending
article headlines would be read, out loud. Now, however, swiping from
left-to-right results in nothing being read, out loud, even though there are
trending article headlines being displayed on the screen.

The only workaround, at this time, is for a VoiceOver user to continue
swiping from left-to-right, until VoiceOver focus lands on the "Show More"
button, the activation of which, will result in a VoiceOver accessible list
of trending article headlines.

I fervently request that this VoiceOver accessibility bug be addressed as
soon as possible.

Thank you,
 [END REVIEW]

Here is my tweet on this issue:
[BEGIN TWEET]:
Please fix #iOS @Twitter app #VoiceOver #TrendsForYou Bug. See #MarkTheWave
iTunes Review for more details. @Support
[END TWEET]:

The following is the text of the feedback I submitted via Twitter's feedback
tool, which has a 500-character limit:
[BEGIN FEEDBACK]
Request to Fix VoiceOver Accessibility TrendsForYou Bug
Select "Search & Explore" tab. The current headline article is displayed.
This area is VO accessible. Place VO focus on the TrendsForYou heading.
Swipe from L-to-R to read the currently trending article headlines. In prev
vers of app, the trending article headlines would be read out loud. Now
swiping from L-to-R results in nothing being read, out loud, even though
there are trending article headlines being displayed on the screen.
[END FEEDBACK]

Post your request in the App Store, as a review, send a tweet to both
@support and @Twitter, and Submit a formal request to Twitter via the
feedback form located at:
https://support.twitter.com/forms/feature_report?feature=tweets.

As always, thank you for your support and I'll see you on Twitter,
@MarkMarcus.

SuperDuper vs Carbon Copy Cloner

2017-10-09 Thread E.T.
I had been using CCC 4 for some time but switched to Superduper as
it was faster to set up and use.

Now I may switch back because the current version of Superduper,
2.92, although it should support High Sierra, does not see any APFS
formatted drives.

If any of you are running CCC 5, how does it compare to the previous
version 4?

You should find two choices in the sync options, one to copy all and
one to do a selective copy.

Re: Is There No Way to Hide Purchased iBooks in iOS 10 or Later?

2017-10-09 Thread Kliphton Miller
I have done this once so let me try to explain it. YOu go into select mode,
once you have selected the books you want to hide, all the way to the end there
is an option that says hide, this should be right after delete or create a
collection.
