RE: Is Anyone Using the Free Version of either Pandora or Google Play Music for iOS?
You should be able to do that on Pandora, but I am not sure that you can on Google Play unless you have a paid subscription. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. Taylor Sent: Sunday, February 18, 2018 8:36 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Is Anyone Using the Free Version of either Pandora or Google Play Music for iOS? Hello Everyone, Okay, I know I said that I had no plans to subscribe to Apple Music, anytime soon but, well, let's just say I'm reconsidering this position. The primary reason why I didn't feel the need to subscribe to a music service is because, once upon a time, one could create custom radio stations based on artists, genres, a song title, etc, in iTunes. Apparently, Apple has now restricted this functionality to only Apple Music subscribers. (smart). Before I take the subscription plunge, I would like to consider free alternatives if for no other reason but that I know that I will use the custom selection feature rarely. So, is anyone using either the free version of either Pandora or Google Play Music for iOS? If so, is it possible to create custom stations based on selected criteria? I'm probably going to end up subscribing to Apple Music but wanted to at least put this question out there, in the Ether (smile). All replies greatly appreciated. By the way, I'm still loving my HomePod. Went over to a friend's house today to check out the Amazon Echo. Wow! I was extremely impressed. I think I'm going to pick up an Echo Dot and use it at least until my beloved Siri can catch up, as I truly think she will, in time-a very, very long, long time perhaps, (big smile). Really enjoyed the audio games that Echo offers. The way I see it, I will use HomePod for audio playback and personal contact features, as they become available, and Echo Dot for fun. Hi Mark, I'm using the free Pandora service. It has its challenges, and you do have adds, but it is usable. Cheers, Donna > On Feb 18, 2018, at 8:36 PM, M. Re: Braille commands on the Mac.
Here are the commands. Commands are listed below. Can be used on Mac and IOS These commands aren't specifc to the Focus, but work on any display with iOS 11. To reply, do the braille display command for the command key, which is space with dots1-7, and then quickly press the letter R. Substitute n for r and you can create a new message. Sending is a bit more comlex. Press space with 1-7, then slace with 4-7 followed by a D. Here are a few more. These work with any display that has a Perkins Style keyboard. 2-3-5-6 cord, select all 1-2-3-6 chord: paste 1-4 Chord: copy 1-3-4-6 chord: cut 2-3-4-6 chord: redo 1-3-5-6 chord: undo 3-5-6 chord: performs a 3d touch 3-6-7-8 chord: double tap and hold 3-6 chord: double tap an item 1-3-4-5 chord: toggles announcement history 1-2-3-4-5-6 chord: toggles screen curtain 2-4 chord: item chooser 1-2-3-4-5-7 chord: toggle first letter navigation quicknav 1-4-6 chord: hide/unhide the virtual keyboard 1-2-3-4-6 chord: create custom lable 1-7 chord: activates the command key 2-7 chord: activates the Option key 3-7 chord: activates the control key 4-7 chord: activates the shift key 5-7 chord: activates the FN key 1-8 chord: toggles the command key 2-8 chord: toggles the Option key 3-8 chord: toggles the Control key 4-8 chord: toggles the shift key 5-8 chord: toggles the FN key. > On 18 Feb 2018, at 22:53, Michelle emailswrote: > > hi can you send me a copy as well. Re: Copying some text from an iBook does not seem to be possible
Copping the last spoken phrase is not what I want. I might want to copy two sentences. Or even maybe a list from a page. Not multiple pages. You can’t do that with last spokeenphrase. Regarding interaction, using an iOS device, not a Mac, I wasn’t aware that you could interact with the text on the page. I’m trying to use the voice over text selection copying where you can choose to copy by word line etc., then flick right to select what you want, changed edit, make the copy, and paste it wherever you want. This is on an iPhone or an iPad not using a keyboard. It doesn’t work for me. Re: Howto save web page to desktop?
Hello E.T, I was able to accomplish this with drag and drop as follows: 1. stop interacting with the desired webpage. 2. interact with the safari toolbar 3. Navigate to the address bar. 4. Drag the item with VO comma. 5. Switch applications to the finder desktop with command tab. 6. drop the item with VOO shift comma or VO shift period. 7. You can edit the description of the webpage by hitting enter and editing the filename. Your method probably works, but it involves creating a .wloc file (possibly using the terminal). Braille commands on the Mac.
Hi. This morning I have been using my Focus on my Mac and have noticed some good improvements with reading messages using the braille display. However as I write this message I cannot see any braille and I can't use my braille display to write with. Is there anything special we need to do to get interaction with writing messages on the braille display please? Also I can't find a way to copy, cut or paste text as you can do so on the I phone. If I hear that we can't do this then I'll write to Accessibility. Thanks. Kawal. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
