Well when I go to a Verizon store I will get a new phone anyway, its just a
matter of when. After a reboot I got 1 bar but its back to no signal now.

If you are disabling hey Siri because of battery drain, that is 1 thing, but
you don’t have to do it because you want HomePod to be the default. Siri knows
when the HomePod is near by, so hey Siri is only active on 1 device when they
are in the same room or on the same wifi. I read and article about this, and
have also tested it.

Use propper Hardware speakers in Bootcamp. Is this possible?

2018-02-24 Thread Gary Price
Hi everyone on here.
This might be beyond the scope of this list, and if it is I do appologise.

I've got Bootcamp all sorted now.
Does anyone know if it's possible to have two different soundcards?

What I'm getting at is I've got some really good speakers from my desktop.
I could use these during Windows setup, but now it's just using the Mac ones
all the time.
Is it possible to enable these?
I can't find any way in the sound options in Windows 10.
I've looked all over the place.

Like I say if no-one can help or if I'm not allowed to ask this I do appologise.

Anyway take care folks.

 Hello Everyone,

Well, today I went over to Best Buy and purchased an Amazon Echo Plus. Of

I must say that this device is a blast.

The iOS Alexa app was a breeze to configure and I was up and running in a
 matter of minutes.

Thanks to all of you who replied to my free music iOS app question.

From the App Store, I downloaded and created both a free Pandora and iHeart
Radio account. From within the iOS Alexa app, I linked these two accounts
to my Echo and wow! They work marvelously well. I have exactly what I
 want
with amazing voice control over both. Alexa is truly incredible. I love
the fact that I can create custom radio stations with my voice, only, via
 my
Echo as the iOS app is not needed.

As I stated in my previous post, I have decided to use HomePod for personal
contacts, tasks, reminders, etc. but, at this time, I'll be using Alexa for
fun and random music playback, while using HomePod to play my own personal
 music collection.

Would you believe it? After demonstrating my new Echo Plus to some friends
who had never seen Alexa in action, we went to Best Buy and each of them
purchased an Echo Dot. I setup three Dots, today. So that's 4 Echoes I
worked with in one day. (big Smile). I'm definitely on my way to becoming
 an Echo guru!!! (Big Smile).

How wonderful it is that we have such a marvelously accessible platform
such as iOS from which to explore so many new and wonderful devices. Long
live Apple Inc and its incredible developers. Also, kudos to the Amazon
 Alexa development team, as well.

I took a look at the Concordance Bible software but, as if yet, I am not able

Bootcamp sorted!

2018-02-24 Thread Gary Price
Hi everyone.

Just an update on Bootcamp.
All sorted!

I listened to that podcast you mentioned Matt on my iPhone, as that link didn't
work at fellow member Christopher Hallsworth's end.

In order to do it successfully I had to enable the root user.
This read the password prompts just fine.

So just be aware if anyone is thinking of doing it, this is what you might have
to do.
If anyone wants any help, feel free to get in touch off list and I'll be more
than happy to assist.

I just wish that there was a nice easy way of removing apps from Win10! Like
Xbox and other rubbish.

Anyway that's going off topic.
Take care.

You'd have to either renew your license with support or go for the monthly
rental. Here's what a Google search of "Avid Pro Tools Peripherals" turned up:

Re: VoiceOver Settings Activity

2018-02-24 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Activities are a way to change some VoiceOver settings for a particular web
site or application. For example I change the voice for the notification center.

Generally this is only spoken when you ask about the application with vo-f1.

Re: HomePod, iPhone, and Apple Watch, An Addicting Scenario I Can Definitely Live With

2018-02-24 Thread Kliphton Miller
If you are disabling hey Siri because of battery drain, that is 1 thing, but
you don’t have to do it because you want HomePod to be the default. Siri knows
when the HomePod is near by, so hey Siri is only active on 1 device when they
are in the same room or on the same wifi. I read and article about this, and
have also tested it.
