Re: Using Auto fill Menus In Safari

I have also run into this problem. Quite often I can get around this issue by
using + and then, once in the mode this tends to work.

Hi everyone,

This topic may actually apply to other apps that use autofill, but I most often
have this happen when logging into places using Safari on Mac OS. VO tells me
I’m in an autofill menu, and the hint says to press up or down arrow, then
ENTER. Whenever I do this, nothing seems to change, I mean, I’d expect
something to pop up in the edit box I’m in. Am I missing something or is there
a bug?

Thanks for any help,

Re: missing onscreen keyboard on iPhone

2018-12-14 Thread Katie Zodrow
Hi Jonathan. This happened to me also at the beginning of December over the
weekend, and it was pretty frustrating when I couldn't dictate or type on my
phone with the on screen keyboard. It was like my phone thought I was still
connected to Bluetooth with my braille display even though the display was
already turned off. Try switching Bluetooth off and then back on and see if
that helps. If that doesn't work, try turning Bluetooth off and do a soft reset
on your phone. When I had this problem, I eventually went to the Apple Store on
Monday and they were able to reset my phone. None of my apps or data was erased
and I did a back up beforehand just in case that might happen. The keyboard
magically reappeared again after they turned off Bluetooth and reset it.
Hope that helps.

Hi,

I use it often to fill in username and password fields. As VO says, I usually
press the down arrow once, then press return and the proper data is populated.
In my case, VO usually announces what is going to be entered as I arrow down,
then I just press return to populate it with what was announced.

I've had trouble with this too. somebody suggested pressing command-shift-a and
that seems to fill in your whole form as long as there's info for it to use.

Using Auto fill Menus In Safari

2018-12-14 Thread Pete De Vasto
Hi everyone,

This topic may actually apply to other apps that use autofill, but I most often
have this happen when logging into places using Safari on Mac OS. VO tells me
I’m in an autofill menu, and the hint says to press up or down arrow, then
ENTER. Whenever I do this, nothing seems to change, I mean, I’d expect
something to pop up in the edit box I’m in. Am I missing something or is there
a bug?

Thanks for any help,
Pete De Vasto

Re: interacting with tables with new pages update

2018-12-14 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hello,

I experience the same issue. This happens here since several updates so it
seems to me not to be a nuw issue.

On the other hand large tables can be created in Numbers much better and it’s
much easier to navigate in their. So may be this is a solution here as well.

All the best
Jürgen

Installing windows with bootcamp?

2018-12-14 Thread Matt Turner
Hi folks.
Subject says it all.
I’m thinking of getting windows 10 and installing it on my 2018 Mac Mini.
I think I heard somewhere I would have problems with the new chip, in the Mini?

Re: 4 tb hd, what is the best backup plan?

2018-12-14 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

No, it can be just one backup volume. First limitation is that the backup
volume should be about twice as big as the data being stored. So, if you have
less than 2 TB of data that needs backed up, then a 4 TB Time Machine backup
volume is perfect. If the total is greater than that, you might be fine, but
the backup may run out of space too quickly. All that out of the way, you just
go into your Time Machine pane in System Prefs, press the Options button and
make sure that none of your external drives are excluded from the backup.
Essentially, that's all you need to do. Leave all drives connected all the
time and let Time Machine do its thing automatically. Note that the first
backup may take days as the data is being prepared for and backed up to the new
drive. All subsequent backups should be much faster.

Later...
