Re: Word On The Mac?

2019-07-03 Thread Julie Rattray
Word documents will open in pages and you can export a pages document to word
again which is relatively ok - I think some features of the document can change
but it seems this is linked to fonts I don’t think you loose formatting etc but
someone else might know.

Hi,
You can download Word for Macintosh from Microsoft. It does require you have an
office 365 account. And it is a paid app, but it runs in MacOS. It’s not as
elegant as the windows version, but it works.

I am still primarily a Windows computer user, but if I am trying to open up my

Office 365 requires a subscription. There is also a stand-alone version of

Subject: Word On The Mac?

Hi,

If I was going to install Ms Word for Mac on my Mac Book, does that require
that I need to also run windows & use something like Fision for the Windows
environment? Is there a version for the Mac?

RE: Flatbed Scanner and OCR Program Recommendations

2019-07-03 Thread Simon Fogarty
No need for a vm if you get something like abby fine reader

If you wanted to spend a lot of money on something like open book if that is
still around thjen yes you'll need a windows vm but as it uses abby fine reader
as it's ocr or at least did then go for it.

I would still like to know what scanner and OCR program you use. Running a
virtual machine seems like more complexity than I want to use.

Yes, Word for Mac via Office 365. Its accessibility has room for improvement,

really liked it when I used it in the past - I think it will also let you do

2019-07-03 Thread jeff `greene
Hi Marshall,
I use a Canon LID220 flatbed scanner and Serotek's DocuScan+. It works
beautifully! I also use DocuScan+ with my networked HP laser jet
printer which has a scanner in it as well.
Hope this helps! Jeff

I would still like to know what scanner and OCR program you use. Running a
