that's a good point, Jonathan. My Mac doesn't read email like that. think I'll
try it on my iPhone.

Re: Can't find braille display.

2019-08-12 Thread Pete De Vasto
You probably already tried this, but first power your XR completely off, then
also power off your Actilino. Then, power back on just the Actilino, and see if
your other devices discover it. As you probably already know, you can have up
to three different devices connected, and for me it does work because I have an
iPhone 7 and an iPod touch connected at the same time and can in fact go
between them.

Hope that helps.

external drive suggestions!

2019-08-12 Thread jeff `greene
Hi, I've got a mac mini hooked to my tv and surround system. I use it
for tv shows, movies and music. I've got a G-Raid 8tb thunderbolt 2
hard drive with all my media on it and it just gave up the ghost!
Arg!!! I've had G-tech, Lacie, WD, Seagate and other drives and they
all seem to only last a couple of years. I'm now thinking about
getting an Oyen Digital Mobius two-bay enclosure and putting Seagate
Ironwolf NAS drives in it, but it comes out to like $450. Can anybody
on the list recommend an external drive that is relatively fast and
reliable?
thanks Jeff

App store makes me mad.

2019-08-12 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I would like to do a usb install disk on mojave but i can’t seem to download it.
App Store is not letting me.
I search for Mojave in app store and it finds MacOS mojave.
Then there is a show button but nothing more.
When i click on mojave i only get a preview with a lot of reviews and such.
No way to download it.
Any help is appreciated.
I really don’t like the new app store.

Can't find braille display.

2019-08-12 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I try to connect my Iphone SE to my New actilino.
I already have connected my Iphone XR to it with success but on my Iphone SE
or Ipad mini the display is not seen or shown up among availlable devices.
Going into voiceover settings and braille does not make anything better either.

Problems migrating to iPPhone 8

2019-08-12 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
Many thanks for your help on this. As you say it takes some practice to get
used to touch typing on the 8 where the touch sensitivity and timing of VO
feedback are different than on the 5S. So touch typing on the 8 does indeed
behave correctly. Happily the problem with the verification code for Apple ID 2
step validation went away the next day when I got my sighted wife to enter the
verification code.
So all is now OK.
Best regards….
Paul Hopewell
