RE: EarPods
Yeah the two versions currently on the apple website are the same series 2 earpods but the cases are different the cheaper have the standard case and the more costly is the wireless charging case, Between the series 1 and series 2 earpods there is a major difference infact differences S1 have the W1 chip, s2 have the H1 chip, The s1 you have to tap the pod to enable siri, The s2 you just say hey siri and siri should work, So the two on sale aren't different, The series 1 and series 2 have big differences. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Phil Halton Sent: Monday, 23 September 2019 7:05 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: EarPods That’s interesting, I just read the text specs on the Apple Store app for both the $200 and the $159 versions of EarPods, and they both talked about the H1 chip, no mention of the old W one chip. If you’re looking to upgrade the machine physically meaning yet a Mormon machine, then I might try telling it through a reputable third-party Energy something like the Zell or something like Gazell they sell used equipment and I think they give the seller some percentage of what the other party paid for yet. Hi, Actually, this has to do with Mail when things update. Overall, it has to do with off-line caching, and can be supposedly fixed with some Terminal commands, but I'd just not worry about it if I were you. Later... For thos who don't wish to update to iOS 13 yet
Hi, Just seen this post on another group posted for those of us who do not wish to upgrade to iOS 13 because of possible bugs. I’m pasting the crucial bit below. "With iOS 13 coming out and lots of us not wanting to download it because of the multiple voiceover bugs, may I take this opportunity to warn you of apples rather sneaky way of overriding your settings to install updates when you don't want them. If you go into settings, general, software update, you'll find a button to turn off automatic software updates. Go ahead and switch that to off, but be aware that it may not stop the update from being installed. There's another step you will probably need to take. You may find a dialogue popping up sometime in the next few days asking if you want to install iOS 13. The two options you'll be given are "install now" or "later". You'll assume you need to choose "later", since you don't want the update at all, and then you'll be asked to enter your passcode. At this point, the phone is ready to install the update, despite the fact that you have auto update set to off, and it will do it sometime in the couple of days after you've seen the dialogue come up. So, when the dialog has appeared and you've chosen the later option, go back into settings, general, software update and you'll see another button has appeared, called "Cancel auto install" or something like that. You need to double tap that button to stop the phone doing the update automatically. And all of this happens even though you've got your auto update set to off. Apple sure are keen to get us updating.” Andrew -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
