Re: Best settingds for Voice Dream Reader

2019-11-30 Thread Phil Halton
Paul, you should explore the sister app called Voice Dream writer. It is more
of a text base app and allows you to move through text files sentence by
sentence paragraph, word by word and so forth. It is exactly for the reasons
you state that I bought Voice Dream Writer and I couldn’t work without it now.
It’s only real drawback is it’s inability to import anything but.txt files.
But, in order to get around this, I import my files into voice dream reader,
and then export them to Writer. That way I can move any type of file, PDF, RTF,
and so forth from reader into Writer. An excellent app I suggest you look into
it.

Re: Orbit Reader feedback

2019-11-30 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
I'm on Android where we don't have that blinking issue, thankfully.

I just got my brand new Orbit this week. It's quite happy on Android, on
Linux, on Mac, and on Windows 10. Can't beat that!

It became 20% pricier this year, unfortunately. Now priced at $599 from:

https://www.orbitresearch.com/product/orbit-reader-20/

Executive Products have a fancy leather case that fits it snugly for
$99, if that's of interest.

Best,

Janina

Re: Orbit Reader feedback

2019-11-30 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
Yes it will connect to both the Mac and iPhone. The only issue I have when
using it with my iPhone is that when you are in an edit field the cursor blinks
constantly. If I could get that to stop I would use it more. Other than that it
works well with both.

Hello,
Is the Orbit Braille Reader available and does it connect to the Mac / iPhone?

Any feedback would be helpful: good or bad.

Hi,
Now this answer might not be very helpful as it’s not really what you asked.
But are you a Braille user? As it might be easier to read the text on a Braille
display?

Best settingds for Voice Dream Reader

2019-11-30 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
I belong to a choir and use Voice Dream Reader on my iPhone 8 to play the MP3
files for my song part and also to listen to the song words on TXT files. I am
using IOS 13.2.3 and the latest Voice Dream.
It is vital to get the sometimes obscure song words correct. I would thus
sometimes like to stop the playback of the song words TXT file and explore the
song line by line, word by word, and occasionally character by character. I am
thus trying to work in the text part of the Voice Dream App but am finding it
difficult to reliably read the song words line by line and when in doubt word
by word. Do you have any tips on the best Voice Dream control and visual
settings to do the above?
Many thanks for any tips.
