Re: Twitter Apps For Mac OS

2020-01-14 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
You should be able to interact with the web area where it will be possible for
you to log in again. To interact, press, vo+shift+down arrow, to stop
interacting use up arrow instead with the same key combination.

Night owl still works on Catalina.

I also use Twitter and it works ok.

Oit definitely connects to one or more devices and allows you to switch back

about the device connectivity. I am pretty sure it will only connect to one
device of a type at any given time. For example, if you have an iPhone and an
iPad, those are both Apple devices, and will not share the Apple setting. If
you have an iPhone and a Galaxy tablet, one gets the Android setting and one
gets the Apple setting and you could switch back and forth between the two of
them. I think that's how it works, but don't quote me.

Re: Twitter Apps For Mac OS

2020-01-14 Thread 'Shawn Krasniuk' via MacVisionaries
Hey there. Just a correction to my previous post. As you know I'm beta testing
Catalina and an update was pushed to my computer. After the update was
installed onto my computer, Night Owl kept making this bonking noise and
prompting me to sign in to Twitter. I thought my accounts weren't working so I
deleted them but I still got the dialog to sign in. I was wondering why this
was going on so I went to the Mac App Store and figured I should just download
the new update. Sure enough, in the release notes it basically says that
they're forcing you to use the new version of Night Owl. This is very
disturbing because I liked the Growl support and having my tweets read out to
me. I'm gonna bring this up with the developer.

Regards,
Shawn,

2020-01-14 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Hmm, I did write code in AppleScript at one point to count down the last few
seconds of a song for a DJ. How about a script that would click play, wait 10
seconds and then click pause? I would want to do this in the new Music app, but
I think it would take me about 30 minutes max to code.

Re: Transcriber Kit.

2020-01-14 Thread 'Kawal Gucukoglu' via MacVisionaries
Hello Tim.

The audio typing would not be me speaking, it would be somebody else and it
would be recorded conversations. I do not know very much about the apps you say
as I am not very advanced on the Mac. I am really more of a Windows person.

But thank you so much for the suggestions. I will see what happens at the end
of the week.

Re: Books App on the Mac

2020-01-14 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
I was going to start a new thread but then figured this was still part of the
same issue.
I connected my iPhone to my Mac again via USB to sink it and once again got
the message that all items could not be sinked as I was not authorised with
this computer. I have re-authorise twice already and I don’t know what else to
do. I also found in the menu bar in the books app below the authorisation sub
menu there was an option to check for available downloads. So I VO space bar on
that and it told me that all downloads and purchases have been downloaded to my
Mac. However the missing books were still missing, so I did a search in the
audio book store for the book I’m listening to at the moment and it it came up
with the search result along with a download button as I already own it. I’m
going to try one more thing that seems simple but one never knows. I’m going to
sign out in the books app and then sign back in again.

Suggestions for audio editing software on the Mac. Is Amadeus Pro still the best?

2020-01-14 Thread maurice
Hello, I may have posted before about this but I can’t find the
question, or the answers. So after a friend mentioned a different
program that has simply refused to install at all. I think I’m going
to just buy the upgrade license for Amadeus Pro. Good suggestion or
thought in this case? Or is there something else I should be using? The
software that appears not to install at all, is Reaper, it seems to be
okay software when I looked at the manual. But as always the devil is in
the details. Any thoughts, and/or observations?

Sincerely Maurice Mines.

Re: Transcriber Kit.

2020-01-14 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Have you considered having the Mac do the work for you? That is, using a few
apps like QuickTime, Audio Hi-Jack Pro and Sound Flower. Using the Enhanced
Dictation feature built right in to your Mac, it can transcribe the spoken word
into text. See this YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCUQPme-f8I

If Sound Flower isn't working well with Catalina,I believe that you can use
iShowU Audio Capture for the same.

https://support.shinywhitebox.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030800592-Install-iShowU-Audio-Capture-Mojave-Catalina

After using this process, you would only need to proof the transcription for
errors and punctuation. This process may be more complicated than you'd like
and may not be of interest to you, but it certainly is much less costly than
£292.

six core MacBook pro for sale and I'm also looking for an iPad.

2020-01-14 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi everyone. I'm selling my mac book pro as I plan to upgrade to a new
iMac. I'm also in search of an iPad. Details below! Mark gave me
permission to post this to the list.

Price includes packing, shipping, tracking, and
insurance to the lower 48 states via
USPS priority delivery. To purchase, please write me off list at:
came...@cameronstrife.com

Late 2018 macBook pro. This is a very powerful machine. Mac OS and
Windows 10 pro have ran flawlessly on it. Features include one piece
aluminum construction, 15.4 inch retina display, six core Intel I7
processor at 2.2gHz per core with turboboost up to 4.1gHz, 16 gigs of
ram, 256gb solid state hard drive, touch bar, touch ID, Thunderbolt 3
ports, glass trackpad, facetime hd camera, WiFi, bluetooth, excellent
built in speakers etc. Includes Apple charger, original box, and a
full sized desktop keyboard with number pad and media buttons that is
 Windows and Mac compatible.
 $1999. Pay pal preferred.

I'm searching for a second hand iPad that is in very good to mint
condition with no functional issues. Applecare would be nice but is
not required. So if you have a gen 6 or gen 7 with 128gb of storage,
or, a third gen Air or 2nd/3rd gen pro with at least 64gb of storage,
please get in touch! I'm not looking to spend seven hundred dollars or
anything like that so please keep that in mind.

Thanks,

Cameron.

Oit definitely connects to one or more devices and allows you to switch back
and forth between them. You would have to consult the manual though to find out
about the device connectivity.

Twitter Apps For Mac OS

2020-01-14 Thread Pete De Vasto
Hi all,

I’m still running Mojave, and have been using Night Owl for twitter access ever
since I’ve had my Mac mini, but the other day I began having issues where I can
no longer get into Nightowl and log in to Twitter.

When I start the app, my Mac starts bonking continuously, and I keep getting a
message to please login to Twitter. There are Retry and Cancel buttons, and
what looks like a web page where I should be able to login to Twitter again,
but I can’t get past here. Are there any others who use Night Owl and may have
run into this problem? I’m also thinking it might be high time to get a
different app, so I’d be interested to know what others are using.

Thanks, as always, for any help,
Pete De Vasto

Re: ios how to delete Audible books from iCloud?

2020-01-14 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Paul,
That is not actually iCloud where you’re seeing those books. If you set the
audible app to cloud rather than device, you are seeing every single book that
you ever bought that is still in your audible library. Alas, I don’t know of
any way to get rid of this stuff, and there really should be. Even things you
return, or exchange as they now call it, those old books that you no longer
have, they are still in your audible library. It’s very disgusting. Maybe try
to call audible and see what they can do, but I haven’t had any luck in that
respect.

Hi,

Property taxes normally pay for municipal items such as local roads, bridges,
parks, recreational facilities etc. Illegal aliens are likely state and/or
federal finance items, especially if they come from Mars :).

ios how to delete Audible books from iCloud?

2020-01-14 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
I am using the Audible App on the latest level of IOS 13. If I go to Library I
can choose to see Audible books on my device or on iCloud. I can delete Audible
books which I have finished reading from my device so that I only see currently
active books. As I have been using Audible for several years choosing iCloud
shows me a rather long list of books most of which I have finished reading and
am unlikely to read again.
So I would like to delete all these finished books from iCloud but cannot
figure out how to do this.
Many thanks for any tips.
Best regards … Paul Hopewell

Hi,

We're not always cold, just depends on what part of winter we're in. Not a
heck of a lot of daylight right now either, although it's getting better every
day. Summer is awesome. Nice and warm, often hot, and daylight for over 18
hours a day, even better further north than where I am. Chicago probably gets
more snow than we do, is a lot windier and more humid. Tons more people too.

Does it matter if i have some sort of case on my Iphone or Ipad?
