RE: USB flash drive with my phone.

2020-05-11 Thread Simon A Fogarty
I think you'll find that the Usb device needs a bigger power supply than what
your phone can provide it.
See what happens if you use a USB hub Powered and then connected to your phone.

That’s what I like about this list, instructions are normally given in manual
gestures. I’m on an NZ based iPhone list and a lot of the members on there
heavily rely on Siri to do most of their iPhone and iPad functions. Not that
there is anything wrong in that, the good thing with Apple is it gives you lots
of options to achieve the same thing. Personally I never used Siri when I first
got my phone or iPad as I wanted to learn how to do it myself. But you could
also ask Siri to place the FaceTime call for you.

Bluetooth and wifi with dongle included and can work with 3 different types of

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a full size bluetooth keyboard with numeric keypad which
can be easily switched between Mac and iPhone? I have an Apple magic keyboard
with numeric keypad but don’t much like it. I keep making typing errors due to
all the keys feeling the same. I get on better with the old fashioned wired
keyboards with distinctively separate keys.
Many thanks for any tips.

2020-05-11 Thread joseph hodge
I found that there are two camera kits unfortunately I bought the cheaper one
first and it does not have enough power to run by drives. However the one for
$39 the camera kit three has a female lightning port that you can use to power
a device plus charge your eye device and that seems to allow me to connect to
most of my hard drives. It looks more like a hub because it’s got the square
plastic housing and has a USB a port and a lightning female port. Hope this
helps

Phil,
Oh that poor lady that I bowled over years ago. Fortunately she was ok.

I work a guide dog so I have idiot drivers as well as idiot pet dog
owners who think they have complete control without a leash. And both
problems are right here in my apartment complex.

Hi!
You could change the double tap gesture to anything that might work for you.
There’s settings for changing gestures in the voiceover settings.
I apparently don’t know or remember where they were but i have used them and

Re: Body Cams

2020-05-11 Thread Jessica Moss
What company even still makes camera glasses aside from Google? This is
actually something that a lot of Aira explorers have been struggling with sense
its discontinuation of their Horizon glasses, and in my opinion, the smart
thing to do would be to create something similar to what OrCam has designed,
that something being a setup that could snap on to any pair of sunglasses you
choose to use, instead of a set of predesigned frames, whose intent is, 1 size
fits all, which never really works out that way.
However, from what we’ve all been told, is that Apple and Android won’t
allow this, which makes no sense to me, sense the more sensible solution, in
my. Honest opinion, is to create a pair of smart glasses you can wear
comfortably, have them be completely hands-free, and use them with whichever
service you want; Aira, FaceTime, Hangouts, etc.

Re: To keep my iPhone 11, or go for the iPhone SE

I want an I phone with Touch ID and Face ID at the same time so I have a choice
of using Touch ID or Face ID. Touch ID needs to be under the glass.

Kawal.

Swift Playgrounds question.

2020-05-11 Thread Jessica Moss
Ok, I have a couple of questions regarding this app, and am hoping someone on
here could please give me some tips to get started with it, or with my next
question, if it’s worth using for this task. It appears that this app is
supposed to be a means of teaching someone to write code, which I unfortunately
am not familiar with how to even do the old fashion way, so my next question
is, how if at all, can this eventually be used to take a web site that most
people in the sighted community appears to be accessible, but if you browse
that same site with VoiceOver, you’re going to run into frames with no alt
text, and multiple links that just say “click here” “learn more” etc, so in
either case, you have no idea what you’re clicking on/interacting with?

Re: Swift Playgrounds question.

2020-05-11 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Learning Swift will not really help with your situation. Swift is coding for
apps and such, whereas the web-site problems are related to how the developer
coded html for their page.

Yes, I’m the same, don’t use Siri for a lot at all. But there are plenty out

Re: Body Cams

2020-05-11 Thread Jessica Moss
Supposedly, the ability to simply pair smart glasses with your device, which
was something many of us who are Aira Explorers thought should be an easier fix
than a brand new prototype that either has its own wireless connectivity you
have to carry around, or a cable that plugs into the glasses and then into an
Android phone, the model of which they were using is now pretty much obsolete,
and service with that was great compared to what they used to use, until
suddenly it wasn’t for a number of reasons. That’s why I’ve thought for a long
time, that it would make sense to just be able to create something similar to
what OrCam has to offer, only it could be a pair of smart glasses that you
could simply connect to whatever service you want to use them with that uses a
video feed, whether it be FaceTime, Aira, Zoom, you name it.
However, I’m also not that tech-savvy when it comes to these things, and so
it may not be as easy as it sounds to me to do such a thing.

RE: USB flash drive with my phone.

2020-05-11 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Yeah I do to,

I saw this done on a phone a couple of years back but it was a jail break phone
which the guy needed to power the hub to get enough power to the USb adapter in
his phone to run the usb flash drive.

Which really makes sense.

Hope this
helps
