OK, Devon, I’m sorry. I just went to your link. And I see that it is an Apple
site. That wasn’t clear to me from your first posting, which when I read it,
made me think it was coming from somebody on Twitter. Anyway, thanks for the
post.

Hi Devon,
So what is the source of this stuff, I mean where did this guy get it? Was it

RE: Vmware tools for linux.

2020-06-22 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Normally this is a set of executable files that are or need to be installed to
your vm machine in your case a linux machine,
It sets up video / graphics and audio related drivers or devices so that your
vm thinks it is configured as a new machine with the correct device related
drivers etc.

On a windows vm the tools are under a virtual CD rom drive
So if you can use a command line instruction to run the setup located at what
would be your cd drive then you might get something working.

Hi!
I actually need to install vmware Tools for Linux but the installer seems
inaccessible in a graphical environment.
I got some questions that VoiceOver was able to read then nothing more happens.
Is there any console or terminal based installer for vmware tools?

Re: questions about using the Numbers app on iPhone

2020-06-22 Thread Katie Zodrow
Hi Jonathan. Thanks for your reply. I wasn’t sure if anyone on the list saw my
message since I sent it earlier last week.
That’s good you can save a Numbers file to Dropbox. How do you rename a
template file in Numbers? I couldn’t figure this out when I tried the app on my
phone back in April. Also how do you delete a Numbers template or spreadsheet
that you no longer need?
Thanks.

Re: New for voiceover and iOS 14 and Mac operating system big sur

2020-06-22 Thread 'Devin Prater' via MacVisionaries
Okay, fine. I’ll copy and paste from the accessibility section of the page I
linked to:

Accessibility

VoiceOver Recognition
On-device intelligence recognizes key elements displayed on your screen to add
VoiceOver support for app and web experiences that don’t have accessibility
support built in.
VoiceOver Recognition: Image descriptions
VoiceOver reads complete-sentence descriptions of images and photos within apps
and on the web.
VoiceOver Recognition: Text recognition
VoiceOver speaks the text it identifies within images and photos.
VoiceOver Recognition: Screen recognition
VoiceOver automatically detects interface controls to aid in navigating your
apps, making them more accessible.
Headphone Accommodations
This new accessibility feature is designed to amplify soft sounds and adjust
certain frequencies for an individual’s hearing, to help music, movies, phone
calls, and podcasts sound more crisp and clear.10
 Headphone
Accommodations also supports Transparency mode on AirPods Pro, making quiet
voices more audible and tuning the sounds of your environment to your hearing
needs.

In all the coverage of the online event today, I have seen absolutely nothing
about anything new for Accessibility, voiceover or otherwise. That’s not
unusual. But sometimes they show stuff on the slides that they don’t announce.
I haven’t seen anything about Accessibility and any of the tech articles I have

Vmware tools for linux.

2020-06-22 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I actually need to install vmware Tools for Linux but the installer seems
inaccessible in a graphical environment.
I got some questions that VoiceOver was able to read then nothing more happens.
Is there any console or terminal based installer for vmware tools?

iOS 13 Continuous Read Borked—Is It Just Me?

2020-06-22 Thread 'Sabahattin Gucukoglu' via MacVisionaries
Hi crowd.

It's driving me bonkers. Whenever I do a read all in any web content, VO fails
to announce links, even as it patiently points out headings, when I really need
it to be the other way around, as it once used to be, not that long ago I am
sure. I could reliably listen to articles; now I have to go back and review for
links I may have missed.

Is it really just me, or is there something I failed to do since some iOS 13
update or other borked it?

Your help appreciated. And yes I know I've been absent for a while; needless to
say it's just time pressure, but I still receive list traffic.

Cheers,
Sabahattin

Re: Parler Social in Safari accessibility

2020-06-22 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
Hi Eric,

I asked sighted assistance to go past the captcha both in Safari and in Parler
iphone app. There’ are huge accessibility issues with the mobile app in that
lots of buttons and tabs are not labelled. In safari, I’ve managed to find
some people to follow and even send some posts but it’s very hit and miss. I
do hope the developers are going to be receptive or else we will be locked out
of Parler altogether.
