Re: OS 14.2 won't download & Install on iPad Air 2

2020-11-21 Thread Kevin Gibbs
Actually, I got a message from Richard Turner in viPhone suggesting that I
call Apple Accessibility. No idea they’d actually answer on the weekend. They
couldn’t find a partial download and I had to update it by connecting it to my
computer, which I had never done in six years. Anyway, all’s well that ends
well. But I’ll keep this bit of instructions in my Tips & Tricks Folder.
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: OS 14.2 won't download & Install on iPad Air 2

2020-11-21 Thread Brad Snyder
Try the following:

Go to Settings > General > iPad Storage

Here you will find a list of applications taking up storage space on your
device. The list is ranked from largest to smallest.
If you have a partial download of an OS installer, you should find it near the
top of the list.
If you do find the OS installer on the list, and want to delete it, do the
following:
1. Select it and do a 1-finger double tap to open a properties page.
2. at the bottom of the properties page, you will find a button labeled
“Delete App”
3. Select and double tap this button to delete the item from your device.

Another thing to look at is the available storage on your device. If you don’t
have enough storage space for the OS installer, the download will terminate
when your available storage runs out.

HTH.

Re: major issue with Big Sur install

2020-11-21 Thread Mike Arrigo
I tried it on my mac mini and the same thing happens, attempting to access the
list of drives in disk utility will cause voiceover to totally crash. I realize
that a new release of an operating system may have some bugs but I would
consider this a major bug, at this point, doing a clean install of Big Sur is
not possible. I'm not sure if anyone from the applevis site is on this list but
if so, you may want to add this to the Big Sur blog article.

OS 14.2 won't download & Install on iPad Air 2

2020-11-21 Thread Kevin Gibbs
My iPad tells me that a new OS is available for download. I have it
charged to 100%. I download and it gets to about 93% downloaded and then
says that an error occurred during the download. My wife has done some
reading and says that one of the reasons might be that there is a partial
copy of this OS somewhere and that I should remove this before attempting
the download again. Pam can't find it anywhere and we don't know what to
do. I'm assuming that if the hardware didn't support the OS, I wouldn't be
given the message to try downloading and installing it. the machine works
fine. but I'd like to update the OS if I'm entitled to do so. I have
already exited iCloud and signed back in without any change to the download
problem. I've tried this on several different days to allow for extreme
traffic downloading the update. I don't think that's the problem. Ideas?

Re: major issue with Big Sur install

2020-11-21 Thread Mike Arrigo
Not yet, it happened on my macbook air, I want to test it on one of my mac
minis, you could probably test it by booting your mac in to recovery, I think
that's the same thing that is used when creating an install on an external
drive.

Re: major issue with Big Sur install

2020-11-21 Thread maurice Mines
Hi, I have some questions, one how did you create the USB install? There are
several machines here that need the upgrade. Two I have not found the issues
that people are talking about on my machine. I'm wondering if it really comes
down to how current in the hardware? This is a 2020 MacBook Pro. So I'm
wondering if that really is the defining issue with installing, And or
upgrading to Mac OS Big Sur.

Sincerely Maurice Mines.

major issue with Big Sur install

2020-11-21 Thread Mike Arrigo
I went ahead and created a Big Sur install on a USB flash drive. After booting
from it, I discovered a major issue with Voiceover. When installing a new major
operating system, I prefer to erase my drive and install from scratch. Wehn
trying to access the list of drives in disk utility, voiceover crashes making
this task impossible at this point. Wondering if anyone else can reproduce
this. I know there have been several other issues with using Voiceover in Big
Sur recovery as well.

Re: How I can make Microsoft teams to be accessible with voice over?

2020-11-21 Thread Steve Z.
Hi Jonathan,
On my more tab I see camera, call, safe and tasks. I can chat with no problem,
but when I am receiving calls, I can answer them through Skype. Anyways, as it
seems Teams is not for personal use yet.
Thank you all for your help.
Steve

I have experienced the issue with notification problems but the
notification window will often go away if you wait. Since I am impatient,
what I do when I get stuck in the notification window is to use the close

clicking on teams in the dock to bring up the primary window again.
