RE: Just Updated to Latest Apple TV OS on my 4K device and Mute and Volume Control No Longer Works

2021-11-06 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

Just an update: I was able to get my Siri Remote to control the mute and
volume settings on the old television, described in the original post of this
thread.

Configuring the Siri remote took less than one minute once I realized that I
could use the television’s original remote to transfer the proper RF frequency
to the Siri Remote.

To transfer the RF frequency of an old remote to the Siri Remote, under the
Volume control option of the Apple TV Remotes and Devices area, select Learn
remote. It is a simple 3-step process, however, steps 2 and 3 do not appear to
be VoiceOver accesible. This is why it took me a while to discover how the
process works. Simply search for aYouTube video on how to do this or upon
request, I can provide the steps; too tired to write it up, today.

Subject: Just Updated to Latest Apple TV OS on my 4K device and Mute and Volume
Control No Longer Works

Hello Everyone,

So I just updated my Apple TV 4K to the latest OS and now the Siri remote mute
and volume buttons do not work.

When I press the Mute button, VoiceOver says, "Mute," but nothing happens.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I am thinking that I am not going to update my Apple TV HD until I find a
solution as I do not want to lose Siri remote volume control on my primary
television down in the living room.

By the way, I can continue to turn my television on and off with the Siri
remote.

I have checked every setting I can think of and I have rebooted both the Apple
TV and the television.

All replies greatly appreciated.

Mark

Fazil,
Yes, VO+x will bring up a list of activities for voiceover. If you’ve not
created any, then the default will apply. But if you do have two or more
activities created, you get a list so that you can instantly change to another
set of vo conditions.
